Woodson says shoulder won’t limit him

Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson left Sunday’s game against the Cardinals because of an injury to his right shoulder, and that could be a concern, as problems with both shoulders have plagued Woodson for years.

But Woodson says the injury is nothing he needs to be worried about as the Packers and Cardinals prepare for a playoff rematch.

“It just hurts,” Woodson said, per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “At certain times you land in awkward positions extended in a way and you get a sharp pain. Sometimes it lasts longer than others. It’s just something I deal with. I feel good. I’m ready to go.”

Woodson, who was a full participant in practice on Thursday, said he’ll be ready to make his customary contributions to the Packers’ defense, and that his top job against the Cardinals will be to shut down wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

“We’ll mix it up and try to throw them off-balance a little bit and put me in some different positions,” Woodson said. “But it’s no secret that most of the day I’ll probably be on Fitzgerald.”

Packers offensive tackle Chad Clifton was a full participant in practice, as were defensive linemen Ryan Pickett, Johnny Jolly and Michael Montgomery. Packers safety Derrick Martin is the only player who’s in danger of missing the game against the Cardinals.
