Boo birds soar in New England

With the Pats trailing by 14 early and another drive fizzling and a punt return by Chris Carr of the Ravens finishing in Baltimore territory, we heard a strange sound over the rabbit-eared Zenith at the Motel 6 in Midtown Manhattan.

Booing.

Loud booing.

Actually, very loud booing.

It’s rare for the Patriots to face that reaction at home, primarily since they rarely do anything at home to prompt such feedback.  They haven’t lost in Gillette Stadium all year, and they haven’t dropped a home playoff game in more than 31 years.

  1. Brady has no time. Every play there is one rusher who is just not accounted for. The Raven’s look explosive and all around better than the Pats. It’s just not their year.

  2. wow I was just going to comment on this…How could you boo tom brady…Heck we didnt even Boo sanchez until his 4th interception VS the Bills. How could you possibly ever boo Brady and the Pats..embarassing jesus christ..I feel pity for the pats having fans like that..

  3. This is not the same New England Patriots the fans have been paying top dollar to see…from players to coaches alike.
The most frustrating thing for Pats fans (myself included) is knowing we have decent players…probably moreso than what we had in the first half of this decade…and the team is playing like crap. They’ve been coaching like crap all year too.
While this 21-0 score is unexpected, it’s not entirely surprising.

  4. Baltimore put your second string in before someone gets hurt for your next round….BB got out coached almost every single game this year

  5. oh in addition…do the Patys miss Richard Seymor..great deal by GM Bill Belichek..ah I guess I dont feel bad for them …the witch is dead..!!!!

  6. Wow. To listen to most of the national talking heads, and frankly most of the posters on this site, you would think the fans only do that in Philly. You mean fans in other cities can be ornery too? You don’t say.
The over/under on how many posts follow this one before someone mentions the 40-year old booing Santa Claus story is 6.

  7. This is getting hilarious now…they must have had an awesome week of practice. And to think they rolled Welker out for what? THIS?!?!?!

  8. I see no reason why they shouldn’t run the score up. Patriots deserve it. Tom Brady is playing like a sixth round quarterback.
What about Welker’s replacement? what’s his name? Moss grows fat on the bench!
What will the excuses be Tom? Bill?

  9. It is official…the glory days of New England are over. They are playing like little soccer girls today. Ravens are playing like men. Pats should be very embarrassed at home!

  10. Brady must be looking forward to the NFL off season and the impregnate model season (not his wife)which begins soon after the game….he thinks he can trump Tiger!!!!!

  11. I’m thoroughly enjoying the carnage from Foxboro. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer coach and fans. Freaking New England fans are scum of the earth. That is why they love Belichump. He’s the perfect personality for all those Chowduhheads up there.

  12. Booooooo Santa Claus!!!
    Ok, just kidding….
The Pats look lost out there right now. When Brady does have time, he still having trouble throwing the ball.
I think it’s going to be a long day for Pats fans…

  13. I normally don’t support booing but this is embarassing. This team looks ill prepared and unmotivated. Very sad to see.

  14. The proud NE fans have just proven they are as bad as the Philly fans. Can’t wait till they leave at halftime

  15. I love it.. They are getting beat on every play…. Maybe Brady should concentrate more on football instead of magazine covers and super models……..My bad, he has the fame and fortune.. he can cash in now……
    Welcome to Hell:
    The Black Hole

  16. SWEET! After seeing these so called die-hard Pats fans rip other teams, esp. division foes like Jets and Dolphins, they are now exposed as bandwagon jumpers, not fans. Classy, all you so-called NE fans, keep booing in first quarter. Don’t worry, plenty of room on SD and Indy bandwagon for you to jump on!

  17. When you turn the ball over 3 times in your own end, you deserve to be booed.
When your play calling is abysmal you deserve to be booed.
When your QB can’t throw an accurate pass, you deserve to be booed.
When your defense looks like a sive against what is essentially a one dimensional offense, you deserve to be booed.
Why Hoyer isn’t in this game is beyond me. I guess the egalitarian talk about players being equal on the Patriots is pure BS. Otherwise Brady would be riding the pine right now.

  18. 24-0
Ravens are just smacking their ass every single play except for those plays when Brady is playing pitch and catch with the Raven’s Defense.
Booing is substantially louder ever..especially after Ben Watson played tag with that pass in the left flat
Brady is lost and lost his composure repeatedly
now more booing for running on 3rd and 20
    wow.

  19. These long sleeves are so binding. Better cut ’em off. But, now my arms are cold. Better wear some long sleeves underneath. Much better.
And I guess I’ll wear the stocking cap Nanna gave me for Christmas…

  20. This is wonderful! I’m a Raider fan, and we rarely get to cheer for our own team as of, oh 7 years or so. So it is with much delight that I watch Tommy Tuck Rule get abused! Plus it is always great to watch the greatest Safety since Ronnie Lott in action; GO ED REED!

  21. The over/under on how many posts follow this one before someone mentions the 40-year old booing Santa Claus story is 6.
    ———————————————-
Ha Ha……Don’t forget we kill our young, live in a filthy city, and we all chipped in to sign Vick….Booing only happens in Philly…..It’s amazing isn’t it……

  22. Before NE won their first SB, I had never met a Pats fan. Now? They’re all over the place.
I told 3 annoying Pats fans at work how the Raiders could have had an undefeated season when they won the Superbowl in 1976.
The Raiders only lost one game in 1976. So I asked the Pats “fans” who was the only team to beat the Raiders that season. They didn’t know.
    They couldn’t even guess. lol.
Also, I have noticed a LOT of brand-new-looking Colts & Saints hats everywhere lately.

  23. haha Patriots..
it just goes to show you Brady is all hype.. he had a chance to run it in but was scared to get hit.. but they still get the touchdown and the only reason they got the TD was because B-More didnt want to challenge the turnover.. clearly the ball wasnt in his possession before it went out of bounds.. haha PATS

  24. I tell you what… Baltamore needs to do something else other than run the ball 3 times and punt.
the patriots daze wont last forever, and theyre a possession away from making it a ten point game.

  25. Not a pats fan…better not change the channel. Why in the hell did the Ravens not challenge the muffed punt, or was it a muffed punt. One replay looked like it didn’t touch anyone.

  26. EskinSux, you forgot the satellite office of the Shawshank State Penitentary you guys have at the Linc.

  27. Cheatriots and Belicheat have not won a playoff game since the spygate was exposed…. The run is OVER!
J-E-T-S are the new East kings!

  28. Mandatory help from the Powers That Be is on the way, you BANDWAGON SCHMUCKS!!! Never fear, the refs are here!

  29. When the Pats were telling fans to get to the game early, maybe they should have told the players to get there early as well. They didn’t show up until the 2nd quarter, with some help from Harbaugh and Flacco.

  30. CLASSIC! Is Tom Brady the new “choker” for big games? Will the talking heads go after him and McNabb with the same intensity that they’ve gone after Brett Favre and Tony Romo for the supposed “big game choking”???
Funny how so few people that get paid to speak about NFL football have no clue why some players play well in big games and some do not. Now that New England’s talent is depleted to a level Brett Favre and Tony Romo have always relied on, will people understand this, or will Brady now be the new QB that “chokes” or is “over the hill”???
The complete lack of basic analysis and reasoning skills in this country is astounding.

  31. I can’t resist making this jab….Big Ben cannot make plays with a crappy line until next season.

Biggest bandwagon franchise in the NFL.

Yes, a bandwaggon that has resulted in every game being sold out since 1993, they year we finally got a real owner who cared about winning. If it makes you feel better to believe your little fantasies, more power too you.

  33. Why WOULDN’T you boo this team, playing as crappy as they are? Should we CHEER them?
Give credit to the Ravens, they’re getting it done. The Pat’s look as flat as they have all year. The blocking is horrendous, Brady is making some
horrible decisions, receivers are droping balls, Moss is invisible, and no one is running with any authority. The defense, God love ’em, are trying to stem the tide, but this offense can score like a mother and it’s about time they DID.

BTW, this is going to be, what, 6 year since the great Belicheat has won the Super Bowl?

  35. “Mandatory help from the Powers That Be is on the way, you BANDWAGON SCHMUCKS!!! Never fear, the refs are here!”
If that happens YET AGAIN I’m at least hopeful that this will cast even more light on the strange goings one when it comes to the Cheats* and the refs. They’ve been getting game changing calls for years. Never count them out when they’ve got the boys in stripes on their side…..

  36. “Maybe Belicheat isn’t the genious NE fans made him out to be.”
He’s likely not as much a ‘genious’ as you are.

Cheatriots and Belicheat have not won a playoff game since the spygate was exposed…. The run is OVER!”
Actually, the Pats won two playoff games since spy-gate…and ran the table 14 games after the report came out. I get the meaning of your post, but you sound like a fool spouting off.
To play devil’s advocate against myself…they don’t seem to make very many halftime adjustments as they once did. I don’t know if its because the coaching ranks have been picked so thin, the players have just not bought into what BB is selling, BB draft picks suck, or there’s no use of cameras…maybe all the above. But I do agree with the part about the run being over…

  40. I live in New England. In High School, I knew ONE Patriots fan. That’s not booing, that’s the sound of the bandwagon emptying.

  41. “J-E-T-S are the new East kings! ”
Really? A team that only made the playoffs because their last two opponents played their 3rd stringers are suddenly the ‘Kings?’ Really? I don’t think you’ve thought this one through.

  42. They should not boo, only an ass would have expected anything else but an early exit by New England from the playoffs.
As I have stated all year the Pats have been in steady decline for the last 3 years and will continue to fall over the next few years.
Put them in another division and take away the cream puff schedules that the NFL seeems to feed them every year and they would not even be in the playoffs.
I guess all those great players that are no longer there had something to do about how good they were, the coach now looks like just another run of the mill average coach.

  43. The JETS are also one of the teams that beat the pansies this year. Nice to see the pansies for what they really are – chokers and cheaters.

Really. Didn’t a poor Dolphins team eat the Jests lunch twice this season? Yes, yes they did.

  45. I could care less about the bandwagon comments, real fans know who they are and don’t need justification from other people’s unintelligible rants.
what I do care about is the state of the Pat’s offense. It has looked absolutely terrible all game and it has not produced an ounce of confidence this season. Clearly this is an extreme case as this game has been particularly bad, but Brady and the offense have not looked as if they have the ability to trick any defenses. Maybe a change in offensive play calling would have helped…oh well…
    Next year.

  46. snnyjcbs said-I guess all those great players that are no longer there had something to do about how good they were, the coach now looks like just another run of the mill average coach.
This I agree with. Seems like Belichick has grown to arrogant for his own good. Its not all him-you need players too.

  47. The Pats bandwagoners should be more proud of 11-5 with Matt Cassell, and no playoffs………than this embarrassment……at home….

  48. Why are stupid Dolphin fans still talking about the JETS sweep this season? Since when is a sweep mor eimopressive that going to the playoffs for a shot at the hardware?
The Dolphin fans dedication to mediocrity is quite impressive.

  49. EskinSux…good call. I was happy with their record last year with Cassel. The reason they didn’t go to the playoffs last year was because the defense and defensive coaching sucked too..and they lost to all good playoff teams. Same thing happened this year…they got handled by the elite teams, and beat the average or worse teams.
This year, our offensive playcalling was terrible…defensive playcalling was on par (which sucked), and this team did not play good situational football. You can look at the stats all you want, but the game isn’t played between the 20’s…they stunk on either side of it this year and at critical times.
I’m actually glad our season is over…they really need to look at the top first, then try and get some smart, hard-nosed football players not named Welker, Faulk, or Edelman.
Congrats to the Ravens…they played excellent and played smart…they didn’t give anything away like they usually do. That said, they’ll get taken apart by the Colts like they usually do, but for now…gotta give them credit. They blew my Pats off the ball completely all game long.

  51. Im wondering why everyone think Ray Lewis is a great guy didn’t he got to jail (cuz he was famous he could do it in the offseason) for accomplice to a murder?

  52. I’m sure Rodney HGH Harrison will say on the NBC borefest……..Well, when i played…..”I personally let our 18-0 season slip away”.But it wasn’t my fault.Damn that Tyree. But i wasn’t a cheap shot artist or a juicer,it’s just heresay and the real Pats fans….all 64 of em, know that..They still wanna kiss my ass…..And since i’m the greatest ever, since i retired the Pats have simply declined……This is a disgraced organization, from top to bottom…….

  53. Tom Brady was “wounded” when the Ravens players “touched” his pretty uniform. He also had a big-time wedgie.

Coach A$$hole looked like he was going to cry in that presser, btw.

  56. I guess Bill Belacheat and Cry Brady have a hard time competing when they don’t know the Raven’s play call.

  57. watching them run the ball down the Patriots throat,…wonder if they missed RICHARD SEYMOUR???

  58. I just got back from the game. It was pathetic. A 21 point first quarter and a offense that couldnt do anything. Ravens looked like they wanted to win a playoff game while the pats looked like they were playing a pre-season game. They are totally lost without Welker. Shows how much he means to this team. Half of the fans at the stadium were gone at half time but the worst thing is that you cant even blame them. Tt was just an embarrasment, too hard to watch but the pats deserved it the way they were playing. I would of left too if it wasnt for the fact that I wanted to get my moneys worth for the over priced playoff tickets. And this is all coming from a die hard pats fan. It was just completely pathetic.

  59. hahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaYeah so in case you did not know it is a little harder to win the games when you are not cheating and begging for penalties. Now I just need Dallas to loose and this will be a good year.

The decline of the Pats*** has begun.

The Patriots have beaten the Ravens twice since Spygate was out there. So that would make them 2-1 since they were caught cheating. A winning record. Not taking anything away from what happened today, in fact thats what you should be talking about.
The Patriots have a lot of problems and none of it is based on Spygate drama. The New England Patriots have a regular season record of 37-11 since Spygate. The only team that has a better record than the Patriots since Spygate is the Colts… and lets be honest the Patriots did this with their backup QB for one of those years. How far would the Colts get with their backup QB? The Patriots have a playoff record of 2-2 since Spygate. There aren’t many teams that wouldn’t trade places with the Patriots the past 3 years.
Why don’t you stop, think for a second and come up any number of real reasons the Patriots are declining. You can say they lost too many good players. You could say their offensive play calling was terrible. You could say they lost too many coaches. You could say Belichick has gotten arrogant and that’s clouded his judgement if you really want to bash the guy. You could say they have had bad drafts recently. You could say Moss doesn’t show up in the big games. You could say that they have no pass rush. They can’t finish games in the 4th quarter. Should I continue? Coming on here after every Patriots post and writing “Cheatriots”, “Bill Belicheat.” Is that really all you have? If that’s the only thing you can say about the Patriots well honestly I feel sorry for you and anyone who has to talk to you on a regular basis.
And news flash, bandwagon fans support successful teams. The true fans don’t need to like those bandwagon fans, BUT if you win championshipS, bandwagon fans will come. Why are there so many Packer, Steelers, Cowboy and now Patriot fans across the country? Because they’re successful teams!! On the flip side of that, for some reason that I can’t figure out, I don’t know many Lions fans. That’s weird.
