Report: Jones likely to extend Phillips' deal

Last Saturday, a loss by the Cowboys likely would have resulted in a decision by owner Jerry Jones not to pick up the option on the fourth and final year of Wade Phillips’ deal.

Now, Jones apparently is ready to keep Phillips for 2010, and beyond.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Phillips is now in line for a two-year extension.

In our view, no final decisions will be made until the team’s playoff run ends.  And if they’re embarrassed today (which is unlikely), Phillips might still have to sweat out his fate for 2010.

  1. Sweet!, You mean the Cowboys make the playoffs for no reason and get a lower draft pick and get to keep the coach that most of the fans hate. Will Cowboys fans be happy with any of these developments? Is Ed”Too Tall” Jones too tall?….Well No and Yes….Save 5 more years of heartache by switching to a different coach.

If the Cowboys are embarrassed, which in your view is unlikely? I have a question, how many playoff games have you picked correctly this season because the Cowboys are getting embarrassed.

I continue to love how you continue to pass along your opinion as news. You did the same thing in the blurb stating Indy was going to have a hard time with the SD defense when they haven’t even played yet and no mention of the Jets in the entire blurb.
Btw, great job picking Arizona to win. How many times exactly did you pick against the Saints incorrectly this year?

Wow you are a prognosticating genius Florio. O wait the Cowboys did get embarrassed today. Shucks.

  5. As a final note (see my previous one above), guess Indy won’t have to face the fearsome SD defense after all.
Florio, you do a lot of good things. Perhaps prognosticating and then acting like know for a fact you will be proven right should be taken off the list of things you do.
