Jonathan Stewart to undergo foot surgery

Teams aren’t required to disclose offseason surgeries. With the advent of Twitter, perhaps more players like Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart will announce procedures on their own.

Stewart wrote this morning that he will undergo surgery on his foot Wednesday. He struggled with an Achilles injury for most of the season, but didn’t miss a game. It’s unclear what this procedure is taking care of.

“The Daily Show” wound up leading the Panthers with 1,133 rushing yards. He’s been remarkably productive as a pro despite barely practicing in both of his offseasons because of injuries.

The Jets may have the top-ranked rushing attack in the league, but no team has a better 1-2 running back combination than the Panthers with DeAngelo Williams and Stewart.
