Redskins boast “punter-proof” video boards

In the neighborhood, the material possessions collection game is called keeping up with the Joneses.

In the NFL, the game has the same title.

And Redskins owner Daniel Snyder will be keeping up with the Jerry Joneses by installing two new 100-foot HD video screens in each end zone of FedEx Field.

The team also is boasting that the state-of-the-art LED displays are “punter-proof,” a dig at the District 9 mother ship that hangs over the floor of Cowboys Stadium.

“Dan Snyder asked us to identify the technologies that would deliver a spectacular game-day experience to fans,” COO David Donovan said. “These upgrades to true HD video boards and control room will allow us to carry high-quality, multiple-angle replays, live game action and game graphics, as well as more frequent out-of-town scores.”

Of course, the most spectacular game-day experience for the home fans would be consistent victories by the home teams.

But, hey, at least they’ll have the video boards.
