Cops say arrest video of Jets fan was incomplete

Much has happened since we posted the video of the costliest Jets chant ever.

At least 400,000 people have watched the clip. The New York Post ran a profile on the arrested man (Bill Carroll) and his girlfriend. And now the San Diego police are talking.

“It had nothing to do with cheering, it had to do with the behavior not seen on the film,” Assistant Chief Bob Kanaski told the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Rick Chandler has already produced a better summary of it all than we could over at NBCSports.com’s Out of Bounds blog.

Carroll, meanwhile, is wondering what could have been. “They took something from me that I don’t think ever could be replaced,” he said.

At least Carroll has maintained the same optimism we’ve seen all over New York this week. “They’re going to the Super Bowl, babe!”
