The Raiders don’t confirm much, but they’ve confirmed that owner Al Davis and Tom Cable will continue to talk to see “how Cable fits” in for the 2010 season.

Raider senior executive John Herrera told Steve Corkran of the Oakland Tribune that Davis and Cable have plenty to discuss. Cable sounds likely to have his role change even if he remains as head coach.

Cable wore a lot of hats in Oakland as the team’s playcaller, head coach, and offensive line guru. Corkran writes that Davis still doesn’t know if he’ll keep Cable.

Meanwhile, our old buddy Aaron Wilson has a report for the Carroll County Times that the Raiders definitely won’t confirm. He writes that Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson is interviewing for Cable’s head-coaching position, in addition to the offensive coordinator job.

The Raiders acknowledged that Jackson was interviewing, and Cable wasn’t involved in the interviews. We’re sure Cable is thrilled with that development.
