McCray fined $20,000 for hits on Favre

NFL V.P. of officiating Mike Pereira has already admitted that Bobby McCray should have been penalized for his low hit on Brett Favre.

McCray wound up paying for it five days later.

FOX’s Alex Marvez reports that McCray was fined $20,000.  Jason La Canfora of NFL Network says the fine is for two infractions from the game.

McCray was penalized in the first quarter for an unnecessary hit on Favre.

90 responses to “McCray fined $20,000 for hits on Favre

  1. Favre on the ground, Favre on the ground looking like a fool with Favre on the ground

  2. It was in the game plan. McCray was being a good soldier and listening to his coach. FINE G. WILLIAMS AS WELL

  3. BS! If this was any other QB with the exception of Lord Brady and Peyton Manning, there would be no fine and they would not have come out and said it should have been a penalty. I am sick and tired of the NFL kissing Brett’s arse. Brett, do us all a favor, take yourself to your isolated farm in Mississippi and stay the hell away from a mocriphone, a television camera and any type of football field.

  4. How bout sharper? Williams? I cant believe they cheated their way into the super bowl. What a Joke. Enjoy it New Orleans, I better never hear a word about hurricane Katrina again, your city is now saved, quit bitching.

  5. Tacking Favre is like defacing a national monument. I hear they are going to let him wear a red jersey next year.
Full circle: Favre starts the year off getting fined for hitting someone low, ends the year by getting hit low and drawing a fine.

  6. Money well spent. Favre got completely rag-dolled. Probably contributed to his decision not to run for it later when all he needed was 5 yards to set up the winning field goal. Favre has been too chicken to run for a first down or a touchdown for years. He’s no Elway, that’s for sure.

  7. Does anyone know the fine scale? The majority of fines that I saw during the regular season were $5000. I find it funny that McCray gets hit with a $20k fine for two hits and nothing has come down yet on Melvin Bullitt. I’m sure McCray’s fine has nothing to do with the name of the qb that he hit.(yeah right)

  8. Packer fans should take all the money they used to spend on Favre jerseys, tribute books and other memorabilia and send it to Mr. McCray as a big ‘thank you’ for putting that jerk on his ass.

  9. A brutal non-call by the refs, especially since if you breathe on quarterbacks these days it’s a penalty.
That and the bogus PI on Leber and dropped pass by Meachem that handed the game to the Saints (not that the Vikings needed any help with that)

  10. Ok with the low hit, that is in the rule books. The first penalty was bullshit. What if that had been a fake with Favre keeping the ball and then throwing a TD or something like that?

  11. Hey Saints fans, get ready for your precious Brees to be a target now. This fine was a slap on the wrist and the NFL is saying it’s ok to try and injure any QB. Get ready for your payback sooner or later. I hope the Colts take Brees out in the SB. I will be laughing.
Packer fans, you guys are jerks.

  12. Golly, I wonder what interesting drug interactions there are with Vicodin and Midol?

  13. Here’s my best Vikings fan impersonation:
    BAAAWWWWWWWW
We couldn’t win the game with skill so we need the refs to help us!
How DARE anyone tackle a football player during a football game.
I for one loved the look on Deannas face. I couldn’t help but laugh at her.

  14. Im a Cowboy’s fan so this isnt a biased opinon, but come on those were some rough hits .. im all for going back to the old rules .. QB’s in my opinon get unfair special treatment.. but all i ask is that they keep it equal … the Brady/Manning connection would have drawn a flag, mind u they would have been bagering the refs to throw it..

  15. Memo to Vikings and your fans.
To sum up your entire existence would be to use the words choke artists. 4 Superbowls and no wins. Several NFC title games resulting in losses. That organization cannot win the big game. It’s become so bad that you had to rent the Packers’ qb(who is a choke artist) to get you to that NFC title game. Don’t fool yourselves into thinking that you have a shot with or without him because you don’t. Tarvaris Jackson isn’t the answer and neither is Sage Rosenfels. The last time you won the division your division rival Packers were rebuilding and the Bears are terrible. Good luck.

  16. It’s funny how you loser Viking fans lash out on Packer fans to stop crying about losing to Arizona and to stop blaming the refs in that game but what do you idiots do now that you lost to New Orleans? You cry and blame the refs. Hyprocrites
You lost. Get the hell over it.

  17. What’s next? More talk about how “the better team didn’t win?”
Guess what? The team that gives the football to the other team FIVE TIMES isn’t the better team.
    Period.
Holding on to the football is part of the game.

  18. They should have also thrown a flag on favre when he took a dive so that strahan got the fraudulent qb sack record. No pity favre: you got your *** kicked by NO & threw your typical clueless pass INT: #4 = LOSER.

  19. Love it. According to some Vikes fans, one missed call was a difference between a W and a L. Maybe the reason your team chokes so much is because your front office are as inept as you!!

  20. You know if he doesn’t hit favre he ends up like Eugene Wilson with a cheap cut block from favre. Ask favre why he threw the interception at the end. He knew if he ran he was going to get lit up. So bitch all you want Minny fans and spend your offseason counting how many people belong in a huddle. Scoreboard!

  21. Two fouls of such a nature would have ejected McCray. Am I right? You ignorant Saints fans are so predictable and boring. Packer fans are way more creative. Keep drawlin over your crawdads. The Vikings screwed themselves or else the game would have been 42-14. How about that? The refs also screwed the Vikings or the score would have been 49-14. I am sorry, but your team is one of the worst teams ever to make the Super Bowl. And the Saints are dirtier than that awful rice dish you swamp dogs like so much. The Colts are going to beat the Saints so bad, the dykes will break and all the gulf crude will come spilling in. After the Super Stomp, you will all be eating po’boy sandwiches out of your asses.

  22. I am not a Favre or Vikings’ fan but DarthBrady, you sir are a turd. You laughed because a wife was concerned that her husband might have just been injured in a football game? You are definitely not married, likely never will be, and you are more than likely gay. Also, man the “Darth” name has already been played into the ground. That’s the best you can do?

  23. One more thing. What a whoopin your defense took on your home field. Damn. Better stick to pickin banjo with your tooth.

  24. All you Viking haters(especially you Packer losers) should still being praising some higher power that the Vikings let it slip away. To see Favre lead the Vikings to a SB would have crushed you to the soul, had you drinking Pabst and beating your dog. You all know,as the world knows,we beat the shit out of the Saints. Fumbles killed us though,to lose by 3 after 5 turnovers proves how much we shut down the Saints. Jokes on you Packers…KFAN is putting a big billboard on a road outside Favre’s home. Telling him MN loves him and wants him back…bad news for you guys next season.

  25. Does anyone else notice these pussy rules came into effect as soon as Goodell came into office, bring back Tagliabue.. You ever heard the saying that your never realise how good something is till its gone … i miss the real NFL .. something tells me its gone forever

  26. “# Pieces Are In Place says: How bout sharper? Williams? I cant believe they cheated their way into the super bowl. What a Joke. Enjoy it New Orleans, I better never hear a word about hurricane Katrina again, your city is now saved, quit bitching.”
    ——————————————-
    Sweet, delicious tears.

  27. Yeah, I guess it should be ok for someone to hit a defenseless QB, helmet to helmet, at the knees or below the knees. I suppose the same should apply with kickers and punters too… and while we’re at it, even when the punt returner signals fair catch – go for it, we don’t want no pussies out there now do we.

  28. I see more posts on here from Vikings Haters than I do from Vikings fans. Vikings fans didn’t fine McCray, Goodell did. Vikings didn’t come out and say the Rodgers “hit” was a penalty the monday after that loss, Pereira did. Unlike the packers fans, most Vikings fans have accepted the loss and moved on with their lives. Which, luckily for us, means servicing Packers fans wives while they still talk about what might have been. . . .

  29. I think it’s funny that Viking fans are trash talking Packer fans in saying that Favre’s coming back. Lookout! If I’m a Packer fan, I’m really not worried about the Vikings next year. The Packers’ defense became a completely different unit in the second hal f of the season(after both Viking games) and I think those games would have been split if they were played later in the year. I know people will say that the Cardinals tore up the Packers in the wild card round but I saw Early Doucet and Larry Fitzgerald doing whatever they wanted to Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson physically. That might have been the worst officiating all year to be truthful. The NFL has turned into a league that allows offensive players to do whatever they want to get an advantage, HELLO ILLEGAL CONTACT. Think about it, if you’re pinky touches the helmet of a receiver you concede five yards and a first down even if the down is 3rd and 50. How messed up is that? I have never seen an illegal hands to the face called on an offensive skill position player(I guess it never happens). Anywhoo, Colts are gonna win the Superbowl in blowout fashion unfortunately.

  30. At least the league got some thing right! They tried to take him out! But didn’t! Cause Favre doesn’t give up! You Who Dat! Fans make me sick. You are lucky and you know It! The Vikings kick the Saint ass all game long! You know it so does everyone else. They didn’t stop sh*t the Vikings handed the game to the Saints. If the Vikings kick the Saints ass all day the COLTS will do more than that! LOOK OUT!

  31. Poor officiating has already run one great quarterback (Warner) out of the league, and it’s close to doing that for another (Favre).
Stupid NFL. You need to protect those guys. They make the league what it is.

  32. The loss is less than a week ago and already we have Viking fans posting about Favre’s return and what they are goind to do next season.
What don’t you get, why don’t you just win once in in 50 years and then talk some smack. Don’t you realize that the more you talk, the bigger your boasts, the more bad karma is coming your way.
You think after 0-4 in Superbowls, and 0-5 in NFC championship games, a little modesty might be in order. This is why the rest of the PFT world thinks so little of the Viking fans, that and the fact you had trouble selling out a playoff game last year although I can sort of understand it because you had T Jackoff starting at QB. And probably will again next year.

  33. Pathetic……….
Farve, Warner, Brees, Manning….it doesn’t matter. They receive a hit 1/2 as violent as the WR’s and RB’s in the NFL and everyone is ready to throw in the towel.
THIS IS PRO FOOTBALL FOLKS….It is a violent game.
McCray hit Farve within one second of the handoff. The fine sucks.

  34. Funny how the Los Angeles Vikings fans won’t acknowledge Jared Allen’s low shot on Brees, or the uncalled attempt by Cletus Favre to call a back to back TO when he realized he had 12 men on the field……which would’ve backed them up 15 yards and well out of FG range.
Hey Vikes fans…..I still haven’t stopped laughing since Favre threw yet anothe season killing INT at the most crucial moment. LOL. It’s karma not only for that lying, manipulative scumbag Favre……for you who ran your mouths all year after beating up on the terrible teams on that cupcake schedule. Softest 12-4 record in the history of the NFL.

  35. Packer fans should stop it already lol. The Vikings pounded you twice just like they pounded the Saints. Maybe you should get together and have cheesy voodoo children together after the Colts put a Katrina on the Saints.

  36. To all you Mardi Grass smoking Saints fans that say..blah blah blah 5 turnovers blah blah blah. Take away the 1st interception that should have been nullified by the illegal hit, and the second interception never happens. You guys are going to get STOMPED in Miami. The Colts are going to light up the Saints.

  37. Not any different than Allen getting fined twice last year for late hit/low hit on QB…..

  38. Anybody who saw that around-both-legs-low hit on him (Reference CBSsports.com) KNOWS @#$ well that that was a capital letters BAD HIT!
Why can such things be called when it’s Peyton Manning out there, or Tom Brady (now), but when such a call is made on Favre’s behalf, he’s vilified by some. I think he’s the only QB in the League that some fans expect to be perfect at all times. He didn’t make the call, people – THEY did – and it was justified. Just a wee shame they didn’t make it during THE ACTUAL GAME!!!!!!!
That game was a violent, tangled mess. The Saints played well, except for the deliberate and frequent excesses, some of which were seen and ignored. The Vikings defense collapsed, but there were more contributing factors to the loss than just that. The noise was one huge factor, spilling over into communication and rhythm and timing. Superquality, superconsistent Vikings receivers started missing balls. Percy and Shank and Harvin. Others screwed up as well. And I don’t care HOW many TDs Adrian made, he needs to be sent back to kindergarten till he graduates WITH BALL IN HAND and can walk all the way from one side of the stage to the other without dropping it.
BF was getting smashed, his protection was erratic and about 900,000,000 light-years slower than the same guys had provided him in the Dallas game – the Vikings players in the Dallas game made their hits and stops so instantaneously, it was as if they were all on springs. It was awesome. They played with a kind of exultant joy, while in the ConfCham game, the Saints offense produced at about the same speed as the Vikings offense had done in Dallas. So Brett kept taking hits and getting up, and taking more and getting up, and getting hurt and getting up. Did you read the report from his brother? He injured both wrists, both ankles, one leg, and got whacked on the head. WHADDYAWANT FROM HIM, some of you?!
Due to Brett Favre and a handful of gutsy players, the Vikings remained in that game the whole way – three points people, not 50! If they hadn’t, that score would have produced a differential the size of the Pacific!
The Vikings will come back stronger than ever next year, if they act wisely in free agency and the draft, fix Adrian, and if Favre is with them. The alliance will benefit them both, magnificently. If they let him get away … let’s just say it takes a hell of a lot to bring a team together, something Chilly, with his new contract and vaunted “improved every year” record, hasn’t been able to do alone.
Anybody on this site who is a Vikings fan & doesn’t know what they’ve got in Favre – far more than TDs – just hasn’t had enough experience with ONE CONSISTENT STARTER PLAYING GOOD and sometimes miraculous QUALITY FOOTBALL for longer than 10 minutes at a time, let alone a game, or a season.
When you’re handed the gold ring, you don’t toss it out because there’s a little wear on it. You value it.

  39. Viking Kong: so your feeling giddy because you got two REGULAR season wins from the packers? wow I certainly wouldn’t be feeling giddy given the fact that my team has NEVER WON A MEANINGFUL GAME
    LA VIKINGS 2011

  40. Hey Viqueen Kong! You don’t take away those interceptions, they happened, blame the referees, blame hits on green bay’s quarterback, blame the city of New Orleans for all I care. It doesn’t matter, it’s over! Excuses are for losers and all I’m reading from you are excuses.

yeah cus vikings fans are the only ones that do that…packer fans are all classy individuals that never talk smack right?
the pain of getting swept by the “choke artist” vikings must still sting pretty bad, judging by all the venom being spewed around here after the vikings’ season ending loss. let it go and stop beating your wives…and i’m only half joking…some of you have problems and are waaaaay too angry.
i guess i can’t blame anybody for simply having fun with it though…get your jollies by all means. i enjoyed watching the pack lose to the cardinals and would expect any cheesehead to enjoy watching the vikes choke it away.
oh and any vikings fans out there who think that the refs screwed them outta the game doesn’t know jack about football…we have em just like any other team’s fans do.

  43. I for one loved the look on Deannas face. I couldn’t help but laugh at her.
Seriously, DarthBrady. It is a game. It is entertainment. If that is how you approach life, wanting to see a guy’s wife suffer, you are a pathetic human.
Listen, we all love our times. I’m a Vikes fan. Was in 1987. Was in 1998. Was last Sunday. Will be at kickoff. I’d like for them to win a Superbowl, but if they do it won’t somehow complete my life.
I hope we have a hell of a game in a week, and I don’t wish for anyone to be injured and sure as hell don’t wish for someone’s wife to be concerned about her husband’s health.
Because it is only a freakin game. Get a life.

  44. Does the pain sting? Yeah. It sucks. But it was fun to have team in the championship game even if we got heartbroken again.
With that said, I’ll just point out that I see lots of whining on this thread, but little of it coming from Vikings fans. We lost the game. We fumbled our butt off. 12 men in the huddle? Give me a break.. Heck, Favre is the one who kept us in the game, not the one who gave it away.
And Vikings fans didn’t fine McCray. Roger Goodell did.

  45. One last thing and I’m out: The chances of winning a game where you have a +4 turnover differential is 97%, based on NFL history.
The Saints were a coin flip and pass interference penalty away from being in the rare 3%.
Be happy you won, but if you don’t take full advantage of the one or two mistakes Mr. Manning may give you, I doubt the outcome will be as kind.
Which Saints team will show up next Sunday? The one who played the Redskins? Or the one who played the Pats? For the sake of the NFC’s pride, I certainly hope the latter.

  46. No surprise. League fixes game to get poor ole’ New Orleans, who just went through a devastating hurricane….errrr 5 years ago, into the SB. Than tries to even it out by posting after the fact fines for “missed calls”.

  47. Just another example of inconsistent game officiating. A multi billion dollar league shouldn’t put it’s product in the hands of part-timers.

  48. We should pass the hat for this guy…that hit was AWESOME!
Way to kick Captain Podunk’s ass!
    SKOL to you Mr. McCray!

  49. after the low hit on Favre, you have to give him credit for not crying about it. I remember when Brady got tapped in the leg by a defender early in the year, Brady instantly turned around and asked for a flag and got it. Hence the term “BRADY RULE”. Favre got hit high and was wrapped around the legs,(which I have no clue how a flag was not thrown) and when he got up he just walked off the field like a man.
If he would have whined about it he would have gotten the flag thrown.

  50. 1mge:
“Who do the Vikings play next week?”
    Nobody.
I think the Saints are playing in the Super Bowl.
Geaux Saints (sp? – For the Viking fans who don’t have a sense of humor.)

  51. JimmySmith,
How did we get 0-5 in NFC Championship while we already went in Super Bowl 4 times ????

  52. I’m just waiting to see how many Viking fans line up to pay $1 each to slap Jared Allen’s gay ass in training camp. SKOL.

  53. So a hit below the knees was awesome. Was it awesome on Tom Brady when it put him out for the season? Would it be awesome on Drew Brees? Peyton Manning? Aaron Rodgers?
I don’t make the rules. The NFL does. But when they make a rule, the least a fan should expect is that an official at this level can make the right call.
Who do the Vikings play next week? You got me there. Same team as the Packers. Sucks, but as a football fan I will still enjoy watching the game.

  54. I thought the officials were supposed to let the players play in the post season? Even Troy Aikman was defending the Saints players and he played the position. How much football has Pereira played?
Let’s not forget the lesson in ball security the Saints taught the Vikings last weekend. Of course, the Great # 4 needed no schooling.
    GO STEELERS!

Hey greenbaygamera please change up your posts – you jump from article to article saying some variation of the same thing. On a different note how much do you charge? I thought that you rode Brett hard but my goodness you are willing to ride anyone who can avenge Favre. Cheap trick!!!! Please someone avenge by boyfriend because his teammates refused to.

One more thing. What a whoopin your defense took on your home field. Damn. Better stick to pickin banjo with your tooth.
Ummm excuse me, would that be the Defense who continually took the ball from your magnificent offense? So if giving up 28 points is a whoopin, what does that make your Defense for giving up 31.
Note: Turnovers or not, penalties or not, the Saints scored everytime they had to.
On a different note please stop the hypocrisy, your pill poppin drug using QB started the season off by delivering a low hit on a block. You through passes when the Dallas game was out of reach (real class). Dude it’s a game – Favre is not Jesus, if someone wanted him severely injured it would have happened. Yes the McCray hit was a penalty and should have been called but anybody who looks at the Saints as dirty hasn’t watched much football. This Defense has been a lot of things but dirty/physical hasn’t been one of them.

  56. As a Packer fan, I want to see Brett back…it is time for the Packers to get on the “toss Favre like a rag doll” game.

  57. As a Packer fan, I want to see Brett back…it is time for the Packers to get on the “toss Favre like a rag doll” game.
Right. The Packers couldn’t “toss him like a rag doll” when he was a youthful 40, so maybe having a crack at him when he is 41 will do the trick. If not then, by the time he is 44 or 45, you’ll have a chance.

  58. Where was the fine when Matthew Stafford was lifted off the ground and slammed so hard his shoulder came out of his socket?
Where was the fine when Jared “Hillbilly” Allen went low on Cutler?
Where was the fine on countless other hits that were was worse?
Nowhere, because they didn’t happen on Brett “I’m not so tough when I’m not hopped up on vicodin” Favre.

  59. Look on the bright side – now the odds are more in favor of Favre returning in 2010.
Three decades’ worth of Pro Bowls and counting!

  60. come on it was a hit below the knees, not intentional, but none the less should have been a 15 yarder. If that was Brady he would have been flagged, fined and tossed out of the game upon Bradys request.

  61. I cannot believe the NFL. This is not football anymore. In no way did McCary purposly hit Farve to hurt him. When you are trying to prevent a quarterback from advancing or throwing you tackle him. I don’t watch much Pro Football but here is a good reason to quit watching it forever. My sister could play quarterback in the NFL with these rules.

  62. I know there are bad fans in every city. . but i gotta say that the Vikings have more of the worst ones than any other city. I was a vikes fan for a long time. . way back when Joe Kapp played. All season long as the Saints and Vikes went undefeated I would read some of the classless comments by these fans and was appalled. After the Cards game we won, their fans were about the best i have ever seen. They congratualted us and wished us to go all the way. I get really down thinking that at a time when our country is about to go socialist, and we need each other, that we are tearing each other down over a ball game. If the Saints lose, as it looks as though they should on paper, then I will congratulate them. Last week i posted that I was concerned about Favre and the Minnesota D. The only thing i want to point out about the turnovers is that the Saints D was no 1 in causing turnovers, while the Vikes were at the top in losing turnovers. Saints D are not dominant in the front 7 and so they train on how to knock the ball loose. Ever think of that? I too decry the Gregg Williams philosophy of hurting the QB, hitting him to rattle is one thing, but not to see someone’s career ended, not so much. In the words of Rodney King: “Cant we all just learn to get along?”

Money well spent. Favre got completely rag-dolled. Probably contributed to his decision not to run for it later when all he needed was 5 yards to set up the winning field goal. Favre has been too chicken to run for a first down or a touchdown for years. He’s no Elway, that’s for sure.
That’s why it should be the fine and at least a one game suspension. Now let’s see if you can say something intelligent.

Full circle: Favre starts the year off getting fined for hitting someone low, ends the year by getting hit low and drawing a fine.
If Favre was nailed for the same infraction in the pre season, why shouldn’t McCary get nailed for the same offense in the playoffs? Reread your post while looking in the mirror and repeat…. ‘I’m an Idiot’ three time slowly.

he didn’t say mccary shouldn’t get nailed…YOU need to reread his post…any idiot can read that post and see he was being sarcastic. seriously, point out where he said mccary shouldn’t be fined.
he was saying it was full circle that favre started the year getting the same kind of fine that mccary got at the end of the season tackling favre.
now go and look in the mirror and say “i made an ass of myself and shouldn’t post on PFT unless i have two brain cells to rub together to create some sort of reading comprehension”.
moron…learn how to read before you try being an ass to somebody.

  67. effs420 –
I think you are the one who needs to read a little closer. JGreen had said it was fitting that Favre got hit in the final game similarly to how he hit a guy early in the season. Damnitall was just pointing out that, since they were such similar infractions, McCray should get nailed like Favre did. As in a penalty.
The cheap shot Favre gave out resulted in a 15-yard penalty and a fine. The cheap shot McCray gave out only resulted in a fine.
Vikings fans would have loved if the two situations would have in fact been treated the same. We would have had 1st and 10 at the Saints 19 instead of turning the ball over.
I think that is all Damnitall was really saying.

  68. The Aints are a bunch of cheap shot artist! Greg Williams needs a trip to New York to have a face to face with Roger Godell. Its one thing to knock out an opposing player legally, its another thing if its an illegal hit! It was boarder line assault that was done to Farve! Watch the flags fly if the Aints try to hit Manning like did Favre! Go Colts, I hope Freeny knocks out Brees! and takes the flag!
    I hate the Saints!

  69. Wow! I think all the negative fans seriously
need some anger management classes. To
quote Jim Mora “Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda”.
Said state of affairs to resort to calling the
game over after it ended. The game for me
was gut wrenching from start to finish. My
side was able to Win in the end. It really
doesn’t matter what I think or you think.
Both sides played hard and in the end, the
Saints won the game. We have been losers.
We know how to lose. Please, slap yourself
or we could get McCray to help with that,
and concede. Your side looks pretty sad
with all this babbling and blubbering, you
might need some counseling. Favre kept
getting up, gotta give him that, not sure
if it was smart in the end, it took its toll.
Its been a long time coming for us. Our
guys played their hearts out and I for one
appreciate their efforts. Its been a magical
ride for me this year, good players played
great, pigs flew, and hell froze over. Now,
we go to the SB and I still believe!

  70. I know it is a tough loss for us VikesForLife, but these illegal hits happen all the time. They just need to be called, and that is where they blew it last Sunday. This was an easy call to make and they screwed it.
Would we have scored? Who knows. Maybe we would have fumbled on the next play. Maybe we would have scored and Bush would have ran the kickoff back. But sure would have been fun to know how it would play out had a correct call been made.
Nothing we can do now. Saints fans should be proud of their team on a good season. I’m hoping for a close, clean, well-played game next Sunday.

  71. One last thing about Favre, for all the haters out there.
He threw a bad pick at a bad time. But we wouldn’t have even been playing on Championship Sunday had it not been for Favre. Sure I wish he hadn’t thrown that INT, but I’m thankful we were one of the final four teams in the hunt this season. Without Favre, we wouldn’t have been.

  72. Thanks guys for such a great game. Not because
we won, but because it was the most intense
battle ever. Games like these only come along
every now and then. I think the smack can surely get out of hand. I have watched and
enjoyed all our games this year, wins and losses.
They are all part of the journey. In the end,
there can be only two teams. Makes for a lot of
bitter rivalry. We are fortunate to have survived.
May the best team win the SB. Hoping for a close,
clean, and well played game also.

  73. True, fundy, but I think you could argue that the calls that went against the Vikings (one would have negated an interception, one would given the ball to the Vikes after a 4th down stuff in OT) were game-changers.
Whatever. Game is over. Should be a good one this weekend. If Freeney can’t play I really think the Saints ought to be favored. They should be able to manage the Colts D easily without him there.

  74. Well we can all only hope that the next Hurricane that hits Lake New Orleans finishes the job.
