Malcolm Kelly can freestyle

Redskins wide receiver Malcolm Kelly was the No. 51 overall draft pick in 2008. He was a dominant talent in college, but was red-flagged by NFL teams because of injuries to both knees.

The reports have been proven true by Kelly’s pro career to this point. Though he has flashed in limited opportunities, Kelly has mostly been a disappointment because of his inability to separate from defensive backs. He has also been no threat after the catch, as he was at Oklahoma.

Whether Kelly develops into a starting-caliber NFL wide receiver doesn’t affect us. Neither does his rapping ability. But we have to show a little bit of respect for his alleged freestyle after the 2008 Nebraska-Oklahoma game. Kelly does not lack for lyrical talent.
