First, it was “Scott’s Tots.” Now, it’s apparently . . . “Bush’s Brats”?
In yet another example of how life often imitates art (if, you know, a sitcom can be regarded as “art”), Saints running back Reggie Bush has been accused of failing to deliver on a commitment to provide $10,000 college scholarships to two San Diego youths who attended Bush’s high school.
The difference is that, unlike Michael Scott, Reggie really is a millionaire.
According to 10news.com, Bush promised the scholarships to Brandon Fountain and Matt Cobb of Helix High in March 2007. After receiving $2,500 each for their freshman years of college, they have gotten no additional money.
Jerry Michaels, the program’s trustee, told 10news.com that “Bush’s people” failed to follow through on a promise to provide additional money to fund the program.
The real question is whether the kids will receive laptop batteries instead.
