Titans working to keep some of their free agents

NFL_vandenbosch_250.jpgWith one of a dozen unrestricted free agents already signed to a new deal, the Titans are considering the possibility of inking some more.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the Titans have reached out to cornerback Nick Harper, who has spent three years in Tennessee.  (Before that, he was a six-year member of the Colts.)

“We are talking, so we’ll see,” agent Ian Greengross told Wyatt.  “I’ll put it to you
this way:  [G.M] Mike Reinfeldt and I did talk about Nick’s future with the
team and Mike said that Nick played very well before his season was cut
short by injury, that he did a good job.  You can read the tea leaves
however you want from that.”

On Thursday, reports emerged that the Titans have spoken to Tony Agnone, who represents defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch.  But Agnone downplayed the discussions, telling Wyatt, “It’s not the start of anything.”

The Titans also are facing the departure of veteran linebacker Keith Bulluck and center Kevin Mawae.
