Ochocinco is still working to get T.O. to Cincinnati

In response to Rosenthal’s blurb about the Bengals’ lack of interest in swapping out the aging Laveranues Coles for the aging Terrell Owens, Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco bristled a bit, via Twitter. (Chad apparently thought we were referring to him in the title.)

Hey I don’t age,” Chad said. “I get sexy as I get older, I wish you would try to use that age crap with me, child please.”

So we responded: “It must be the McDonald’s diet. Ponce de Leon should have just eaten Big Mac Snack Wraps.”

Chad gave us an “lmao” in reply, and then he said that he’s still lobbying for the team to sign Terrell Owens.

We traded a few more tweets about Bob Glauber’s report that the Bengals aren’t interested in Owens. Along the way, ESPN’s Adam Schefter chimed in, echoing the position that the Bengals won’t sign T.O. (Schefter’s statement prompted Ochocinco to eventually challenge ESPN to a paintball war.)

“How can others report what our team is doing?” Chad eventually said. “Unless OCNN says it they know nothing.”

I then asked him whether OCNN is reporting that T.O. will be a Bengal.

Said Chad: “I have to convince management first.”

Owens becomes an unrestricted free agent on March 5, and Ochocinco has made abudantly clear his desire to get T.O. to Cincinnati. Owens apparently is interested to play there, given his Super Bowl week vow to change his name to “Ocho Uno” if/when he becomes a Bengal.
