The Washington Redskins have commenced the process of retooling their roster by cutting veteran tailback and special-teams standout Rock Cartwright.

Though by no means a household name, Cartwright has spent his entire eight-year career with the Redskins. He started two games in 2009, due to injuries to Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts.
