Larry Foote will visit Cardinals, Redskins

Free agent linebacker Larry Foote said last month that he didn’t think the Lions were going to keep him around. By all appearances he was right, but he’ll catch on somewhere else.

Foote says he has visits scheduled next week with the Cardinals and Redskins.

Darren Urban of the Cardinals’ official web site writes that Foote is most likely the team’s top priority in replacing linebacker Karlos Dansby, who left Arizona to sign with the Dolphins.

Foote signed with his hometown Lions in 2009 and started 14 games, but he didn’t always look like a great fit in coach Jim Schwartz’s defense. Prior to 2009 he played for the Steelers from 2002 to 2008, starting 96 consecutive games in his last six seasons with the team.

  1. If he goes to AZ, that will be just another Steeler to follow Whisenhunt to Pittsburgh West.

Probably trying to find more LB’s to fit their new 3-4 defense. This actually makes sense and I hope they get him. If isn’t a starter opposite Fletcher on the inside, he provides good depth not to mention his personal knowledge of what it takes to be a LB in the 3-4.

  3. well i hope he gets a deal done with az. need to make that front 7 more physical.
