L.T., Jets still meeting

NFL_tomlinson1.jpgAs of 4:10 p.m. ET, the Jets and free-agent running back LaDainian Tomlinson were still meeting in New Jersey, according to Dave Hutchinson of the Newark Star-Ledger.

Whether it means that he’ll pick the Jets over the Vikings, whom he visited Wednesday and Thursday, remains to be seen.

L.T. could make a decision between the two teams this weekend.  In other words, Minnesotans and New Yorkers in the crowd will be required to spend some of their non-work time mashing the F5 button over the weekend.

We’ll be here, monitoring all the developments and posting a bunch of stories, partially due to the fact that I am committed to serving the audience.  And partially due to the fact that I have no life.

In this instance, agreeing with me in the comments section will not make me feel any better.

  1. Love to see LT in Purple but I am not thinking it looks to good. Chilly may say “LT promised to visit the Jets and he is a man of his word” but history says when the first suitor lets go-the player is gone.

  2. I think it’s a no brainer that LT signs with the Vikings. With the Jets he would be 3rd on the depth chart, Jets are good but not as loaded as the vikes thus better chance at SB………

  3. i think the best thing that came out of this entire story is you addmited you have no life.

  4. IF the weather is looking good, you could always put Florio Jr and Rosenthal to work painting the deck and cleaning the garage.
At least then you’d be doing something productive for society (buying the paint) instead of just sapping the productivity of your readers during their working hours.

  5. We’re not here to make you feel better, Mike – we’re here as a kind of
    Equal Opportunity Provocation Covenant,
with you as our main focus …

  6. Don’t flatter yourself, Florio….this isn’t such a big story that NY fans will be mashing their F5 button…as for MN fans, well they all reek of vinegar and regret, so they might just do the F5 thing.

  7. Would like to see him as a Viking. AP and LT that would be a 1-2 punch! Go Vikings!

  8. You da bomb-jack Florio. MNVikesfans will have the f5 glued this weekend, so don’t let us down. BTW don’t count on the PA press box gig for game 1, though….but keep tryin’ — us minny fans would get a kick outta that

  9. Shawn Greene is very good. It would be nice to see what LT could do behind an offensive line that sent their LT, LG, and C to the Pro Bowl. Almost the same situation with the Vikings. Must be a nice problem to have deciding which great O-line to run behind.

  10. the Jets are making a huge mistake if they sign LT. If the Jets need a good veteran rb then they shouldve kept TJ. He has been so much better than LT the last 2 seasons and will be better this year, even on the Chiefs. Tannenbaun needs to get his head out of his ass and smarten up.

  11. How dare LT even entertain another offer after visiting the worlds greatest franchise ever. If not for the refs fixing every game the viking would have won all 44 superbowls.

  12. oh.. you’re probably wondering what the list is…. well it’s titled “Guys who are bigger douch bags than Kevin Federline adn likely have sex with farm animals”.
I make this list so I can avoid guys like you. Oh yeah, most Pack fans are on this list.
    GO VIKS!! SKOL!!!

  13. LOL AT FIRE TED!
A New Yorker telling someone else that they reek.. hahahahahaha thats the greatest thing I’ve ever heard lol. New York: Your idea of personal space is no one actually standing on your toes. haha what a trash place

  14. Fire Ted,
What kind of a dumb statement is that. Tomlinson would be an upgrade for the puckers…….

  15. Hey Fire…you sound like a bitter Fudge Packer! Are you Fat like everyone else from Green Bay?

  16. LT to the Jets makes no sense. Washington is already there to play passing downs. Go to the Vikings LT and end your career with Brett.

  17. Dude, he hasen’t done squat since norv turner got rid of Lorenzo Neal! Listen, if LT gets behind a decent fullback (Beast) he will be a top 3 RB on the season.
I love the Bolts, I was a waterboy for a bit at Charger training camp in 1963 when they had the orange crush colored facility on Broadway St in Escondido.
All that but I still cringe everytime they get close to greatness and then… BAMM! the ‘stupid bug’ bites a decision maker.
turner has gone away from the smash mouth style run attack using it as a distraction with no real purpose, injuries have plagued the OL, NO FRIGGIN BEAST AT FULLBACK! How is that LT’s fault?
I hope the Jets snatch him up, that would be justice and mark my word LT will be the feature back again. All he needs is the support and gameplan to get it done. Then he could face SD in the playoffs HA HA!!!
In another light… not a bad way to entice Farve either! But I think he’d rather face SD as a Jet with a Schottenhiemer coaching!!!
    ‘We’ll see shortly’

  18. Why do teams feel once one of these old players sign with another team they become 5 years younger?

=================================As opposed to Packer fans reeking of piss and shit stained underwear?
Fire Ted is an upper decker sort of guy, pay him no mind.
He farts in the tub and then bites the bubbles.
This would explain his idiotic posting.

    Vikes Offense Stars:
Tavaris Jackson, AP when he doesn’t fumble, Sidney Rice, Percy when he’s not missing games for migraines, and…the TE? Wow. You guys are loaded.
Not sayin the Jets offense is loaded, because no one said they are.

  21. LTs big draw is as a complimentary RB in a 2 back set who lines up in the slot or on the flank half the time. Not a good match in NYJ offense, but, of great value in MIN West Coast offense. The match-up problems would be Epic!
Remember LT has great hands and is pethaps one of the top route runners all time from the RB position.
The speed/receiving skills Min could put on the field with their 2RB set would be tremendous.
    Rice
    Harvin
    LT
    AD
    Shiancoe
oh…and if Berrian’s hamstring stops giving him problems he could be Brett’s “Donald Driver” type receiver (deep over the top post routes in stride), something we didn’t even see last year. He really didn’t have his wheels last year and still did well.
LT would be crazy not to want to be a part of this offense.
With or without LT, AP should see plenty of 3rd down exposure. See chart below, big surprise.
