Source: Roethlisberger’s Arnold Palmer rumors are false

With rampant rumors making the rounds regarding some type of an unpleasant exchange between Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and goldf legend Arnold Palmer, a source close to Roethlisberger says that the rumors “couldn’t be further from the truth.”

Per the source, Roethlisberger and Palmer have met twice, and they have played together at Arnold’s club, the Latrobe Country Club.

It was awesome,” Roethlisberger said of his golf outing with Palmer in 2008. “It was Arnold and I on a team against [the late] Coach [Terry] Hoeppner and Spider Miller. We had a lot of fun. Just to be out there with him. He is a legend. He is maybe the greatest to ever play. It was fun to hear stories and watch him play. He chipped in a couple of times and had some great shots. It was a blast.”

One of the rumors is that Roethlisberger at some point after they played together showed up at the club without Palmer, that Palmer got him onto the course, that Roethlisberger was rude to some kids, that the kids ended up being Palmer’s grandchildren, and that Palmer went berserk on Big Ben.

The source denies it, and since we don’t know whether the story is true or false we’ll defer to the source.
