PFT Daily: As bad boys go, Steelers have supplanted the Bengals

The Pittsburgh Steelers have taken great pride in their pristine image.

We hope they enjoyed it while it lasted.

With the news that receiver Santonio Holmes found himself on the wrong end of a civil allegation on the same weekend that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had his latest off-field misadventure, the image is being shattered.  And the Steelers might have to take drastic steps to fix it.

For more, here’s a little PFT Daily.

  1. It’s a shame that an organization with such history has been tarnished by a few scumbags.

  2. Bengals were suppplanted by any number of other teams two years ago, but nice try. DOn’t recall half of my team drinking and banging hookers on a boat, or….. ah F&*k it, what’s the use.

  3. Dude, Florio, you are the site owner, not a commentor. Stop taking the most popular comments and making them into stories to generate more comments. We get what your doing, and good for you for generating page hits, but this isn’t professional journalism.

  4. Yes Florio it is about time you report this. The steelers are crap, they have been for a while. The Bengals have been in good shape for a while with the exception of those 2 DUI’s but there are a lot of other teams with way worse stuff. The steelers are one of the dirtiest teams on and off the field. Who Dey

  5. Jesus Florio enough, they haven’t been proven guilty of anything yet. It’s so easy to sit behind your computer and like everyone else convince yourself they are guilty. Yes this looks absolutely terrible for the franchise but until all of this is settled you can’t jump to conclusions like this. Please how many arrests did the Bengals have in that time span 8 or 9? Find something to write about that Florio.

  6. We have Supplanted the Bengals in more ways than one…………………….. Ill let you figure that one out.

  7. It does somewhat tarnish their reputation… however, I still say they have some great football players. Not necessarily good human beings.

  8. The difference between the Steelers and Bengals is, the Steelers don’t go out and actively seek out players with troubled pasts. The Bengals knew of Chris Henry’s problems when they drafted him. After numerous arrests they cut him, then re-signed him again before his last stupid act killed him. They went out and signed Tank Johnson after his arrest. They went out and drafted Rey Maualuga even though all NFL teams knew he was an alcocholic, then he gets a dui/crash after his rookie season. They also drafted Bernard Scott who had a string of arrests and was kicked out of college. Now the Bengals are looking at NFL poster boy for bad behavior PacMan Jones.
The Steelers haven’t brought in players with rap sheets. Ced Wilson was clean before he came in, got charged and was cut. James Harrison was clean too, had a domestic issue which involved him breaking a door and a cell phone, but he didnt hit the girl and wasnt charged. Big Ben was a squaky clean ‘play for Jesus’ type when drafted, and to date has never even been charged with a crime.
There is a HUGE difference between having a few players get in trouble, and actually seeking out players who are known thugs and criminals. The Bengals look for bad eggs at a discount price. The Steelers do not.
Oh, and the Richard Seigler was cut long before he was charged with pimping.

  9. Incoming stream of steeler fans with “They’re nowhere near the Bengals…6 RINGS!!!”
Plus, in Pittsburgh, beating women is apparently ok, and it is nowhere near as bad as…I dunno…being drunk on a boat? Oh wait the Bengals have had a few DUIs too…3 years ago! Those thugs!
Drinking while driving = bad judgment. Beating women or forcing them to have sex with you = bad person. See the difference?

  10. Next up, test James Harrison for steroids. The guy all of a sudden shows up huge in Pittsburgh after being on a couple of other teams practice squads…he’s a juicer & cheater like everyone else in that org

  11. Do what? Cut the best 2 players on the offense?
    Suspend them?
for being charged, that’s garbage, especially if they are innocent. They should have to wait until there is a verdict.
Who knows what happened, but I thought in this country you were innocent until proven guilty.
What they should do is lecture the players more about the power they have as heros to kids all over.

  12. It’s only a matter of time before Mendenhall gets charged with aggrivated assault against an underage armadillo in a strip club. What a bunch of winners on that club.

  13. Are you serious Mike? Give me a break.
There will be no “drastic” measures.
The only measure will be hoisting the 7th Lombardi at Jerry World in 2011.

  14. There you go.
    Nuff Said.
You have officially supplanted the Bengals.
steeler-lady you can now go home. Y
    ou should be banned…
    thank you Florio….

  15. Now maybe people will stop talking shit about the Bengals like it’s ’06 all over again. Have fun being the butt of all “Your team is full of criminals” jokes, Steelers fans.

  16. Bengals were bad in 2006 and that was it people simply can’t get over….Jaguars,Broncos and now Steelers have been much worse.
    Btw Hahhahahaha @ the Stoolers.

  17. Maybe “Steelers” refers to the material used to make the bars for the prison cells in Pittsburgh. Perhaps they should change their name to the “Assaulters” or “Women Beaters” or “Parolees”. They new helmet logo could be a pair of handcuffs or a silhouette of a man striking a woman. Class organization.

  18. Can anyone explain how criminal charges haven’t been filed in any of these instances? Is this a case of law enforcement being too lienient because of the players’ status? Are the accusers just digging for money?
Whatever it is, all of these ambiguous allegations need to be sorted out.

  19. I laugh at the people thinking the Steelers having scandals is a recent development. I don’t know what “pristine image” they are referring to, but throughout their history, the Steelers have nearly always had some sort of issues.
Be it steroids, criminal activities, gambling, bribing officials, barfights, you name it, it’s always something.
Ben and Santonio are still innocent until proven guilty, so I won’t harp on them at all until the facts come out. However, even if the worst rumors about them turn out to be true, it won’t be anything new for this “storied” franchise.

  20. So if they cut a player like Cedric Wilson for getting in trouble, they are wrong. If they keep a player who gets in trouble, but is never charged like James Harrison or Ben Roethlisberger they are wrong. If a player they had already cut like Richard Seigler and then he later gets in trouble, it somehow reflects on the team??? Do you not see the flaws in your logic Foolio?

  22. This just might lead to The NFL having to quit watching The Steelers Back and trumping up the phony image that they’ve shoved down the public’s throat.

  23. Um false, Florio.
NEITHER BEN NOR SANTONIO HAS BEEN ARRESTED OR CHARGED WITH ANYTHING (lately in #10’s case)

    Another funny one.
    5/5 good sir.

  25. Bull Crap!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s not an apple to apple comparison. These guys were already apart of the Steeler organization.
You don’t see the Rooney’s recruiting convicted felons unlike the Bungles, Ratbirds, and Cowpokes. The Patriot players are legit. Their organization are cheaters.

  26. As much as I enjoy reading (in this case, watching) anything that sheds negative light on the Steelers, I’m really tired of seeing every team with some trouble makers being compared to Cincinnati. Seriously? It’s 2010. Can we please move on from the offseason of 2006? Sure, the Bengals still have some trouble makers on their team but what team doesn’t?
Going by the “Turd Watch Police Blotter”, the Bengals have had 2 arrests since February 2009: DUIs by Leon Hall and Rey. Teams that have had more arrests in that time period? The Bills (3), the Redskins (3), the Falcons (3), the Bears (3) and the Dolphins with a whopping (5).
So why not say that the Steelers have supplanted the Dolphins or any of those other teams with bad apples? The joke got old about 3 years ago. Let’s try to get a little more creative, Florio.

  27. F U Florio.
I’ve been a loyal reader for years, but your incessant and unwarranted Steelers bashing has gone too far.
Since you sold your soul to NBC, you are worse than those miserable paparrazi who stalk celebs, inciting them to smash their cameras.
You pick agendas based on how many clicks you anticipate receiving, and unashamedly smear players completely baselessly, and without remorse.
All I’m going to say is I really hope some woman falsely accuses YOU of something someday, so you can enjoy what it’s like. Trust me, I’ll be there with my blog, endlessly updating the world on every second of your crashing downfall.

  28. Oh the shame of it all.
On the bright side, we still got a ways to go to catch the Ratbirds.

Big Ben was a squaky clean ‘play for Jesus’ type when drafted, and to date has never even been charged with a crime.
I’m sorry, I won’t bang on the Steelers for this their rapsheet because, as a Bengals fan, I have been there and done that to defend my favorite team, but you lose all credibility and will now be simply labeled as a homer if you are going to spout this nonsense. Anyone with any affiliation to Miami University at the time that Ben was attending school there knows that he was a BMOC and classic jock. He may have been a fine upstanding lad in high school, but he went completely ghetto once he got to Miami U. He never officially “got into trouble” while there, but there are plenty of stories of him doing the party scene, causing trouble, finagleing his way out of it, and lots of other crap. He was not a model citizen or “play for Jesus” type.

  30. Let’s not forget about the assistant trainer they had who got busted for possessing steroids.
Let’s also not forget about Najeh “Dookie” Davenport.
Jeff Reed, Jonathan Dekker hell your mascot got arrested.

  31. Don’t worry Florio. Your Patsies can have the “bad boys” title back soon to go along with the “cheaters” label.
Belicheat will bring in a few felons and goons and other friends of Rodney Harrison via the draft or just pull them out of prison and throw them into a uniform. He probably prefers them – they don’t try to refuse when he tells them to play within a week of a concussion with a splitting headache. He’ll have his goon squad all ready to go prior to training camp.
Unlike Robert “steal me a Lombardi” Kraft, the Rooney’s will probably come down hard and fire somebody’s a$$ pretty quick.

  32. Why isn’t Ben faced with a suspension? Though I admit, Pac Mac is more of a makin’ it rain thug, he really didn’t do anymore than Ben (conviction wise), yet he was suspended. Is it bc Ben is the starting QB on a popular team? If so, that is bs. The Bengals are going to roll the AFC North again this year, Who Dey.

  33. Congrats Florio! Instead of reporting on NFL issues like the upcoming draft, remaining free agents, and the fact that the Eagles have 3 potential starting QB’s on the trade block you resort to commentary that is best left for “The View”. I can see tomorrows headlines now… “Brett Favre sneezes while getting on plane”, “Big Ben proves guilt by wearing a headband” or my favorite, “I have nothing better to write, so I made some stuff up”.

  34. If only there was a stat sheet that kept record of each teams’ arrests and convictions of players and personal of each team that would assign a point value to each type of arrest and conviction, then the fans could see which team has the worst record for hiring these type of thugs.
    Wishful thinking I guess.

  35. The NFLPA needs to seriously consider the good of the game and consider allowing morals clauses to be a standard part of contracts. How many private sector companies allow their best performers to assault people, carry guns into public places or otherwise behave in unacceptable ways and give them a slap on the wrist via a suspension or fine? A zero tolerance policy enforced without exception will, at some point, drive the message home that sports celebrity includes a responsibility to represent your employer positively at all times. If that’s something the player can’t conform to then they need to use the degree I’m sure they received from their institution of higher learning and go work for a living. Unfortunately, that’s not what the NFLPA is all about.

  36. The difference, of course, is that the Bengals haven’t won any Super Bowls while tolerating all the thugs that have graced their lockerroom.

  37. i bumped into mike tomlin at some dog fights this weekend… the guy knows his stuff… took home some serious cash that night.

Florio can do what ever the hell he wants. Just because the Steelers have become the poster boys for lack of professionalism and female abuse is no reason to cry. Deal with reality. Vikings put up with it in the past as the Bengals did. Didn’t see Steeler fans crying then. 6 SB wins can’t change the reality of what today’s Steelers have become. Just thank God Porter isn’t still a Steeler even though he will always be known as one.

  41. Again are either of them guilty? No! In the PFT court of public opinion apparently they are. It’s so easy to jump on this and assume they are guilty. Just wait for them to be proven innocent. Then everyone is going to start bitching and moaning that Ben paid the girl and Holmes used his status to get off blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda. All of these women are skanks and skeezers who will do anything for money.

  42. Good article and as a hometown Pittsburgher, it’s true. But it doesn’t go far enough. In the last decade or so, this is the way professional athletes–and to some degree, college athletes, too–conduct themselves. Let’s face it, these guys live by a different code than you and I, and they have both the money and fame to overcome whatever problems come their way. I have no doubt that today’s athlete is the best ever in whichever sport you care to name, but the problem is that they are more morally and ethically bankrupt than ever before.
Over the past decade, I’ve resorted to just watching the game on TV as my last semblance of support. Now, if there is something better to do, I’ll do it.
I’ll be interested to see what the Rooney family does.

  43. Yes, it is shameful that an organization with a long history of massive steroid use and HGH use and fixed Super Bowls is now allowing the rest of the world to see them for what they really are. Yes, truly a shame.

  44. The Steelers don’t owe any of you jack shit except maybe a Bud Adams Salute.
Seriously, what do you want? A public apology? Immediate suspension/release? LOL I think the Rooneys just MAY know a little bit more about running a football team than you.
Yes, they cut Ced but not Harrison. WHAT OF IT? It’s their football team. What’s Ced done since then? Seems like it was a good move.

  45. I’m just glad the SIX came prior to all of this.
Maybe all that fame and success and multiple rings can corrupt a young man.
Luckily, if you are a player or a fan of about 29 other teams, you won’t have to worry about it. So comment away. After all the most exciting part of your season is only weeks away, THE DRAFT!!

If you don’t like the way this site is handled then don’t come to it. Most people enjoy the read we get here. If the Steelers are becoming the bad boys of the league don’t blame the messenger.

  51. the Steelers have always had some shady players. Everyone does. We’ve had players shoot at police helocopters, and drive into oncoming traffic. These are nothing compaired to that. But there sure are a lot happening at once. It is the front office that has always been the good guys, not the players. Let’s wait and see what they do with these guys. Remember that they have to deal with the union, so they do not want to punish early, or they will have serious problems making the punishment stick.

  52. The difference is:
One franchaise has demonstrated consistent success unmatched by any other team in the league’s history with 6 Superbowl wins in 7 appearances.
The other’s crowning achievement is two one-and-outs in the playoffs over the span of the last 20 years.
A couple allegations and a kicker that foolishly destroyed a paper towell despenser will hardly tarnish the top brand in pro football.

  54. I take issue with the fact that the team should educate players how to ‘avoid trouble’. I’m sorry, these are grown ass men. They don’t need to be TOLD how to act. The company I work for didn’t provide me with classes on how to not get arrested, how to treat women at home, how to avoid problem spots when I’m not at work. Why should NFL organizations have to tell 25+ year old MEN the right way to act and behave in public? That is insulting. As much as I dislike the Steelers, to say the organization needs to educate the players on right and wrong is ludicrous.

  60. When the Bengals of just a few seasons back were caught up in all this misconduct off the field, the Commish said that it was essentially ‘morning in the NFL’ and that a the shield would no longer have any tolerance for misconduct. More so, that if a team could no police itself and and cleanse itself that the Commish would step in and impose fines upon the team. Since then, the 2006-2007 off season, the Bengals have righted the ship and the Steelers are the team with almost non-stop off the field issues. Where is the threat of action against the Steelers from the Commishs’ office, from the leauge? Where is justice?
Florio, don’t forget that K Reed has two off field issues, and that when Joey Porter was a Steeler, he got shot right in his big @$$.

  61. It really wasn’t until Dan Rooney started cozying up with Obama that all these problems started. He sold his soul to get the Ireland Ambassadorship and now he’s lost the moral high ground with his team. But you and your buddies claim they were “cheating”. Cheating and not following a rule as to where one’s camaeras are allowed to be set up (press box only as opposed to in the stands or sidelines) are two different things. Cheating is doing steroids that are illegal to give somebody an unfair advantage. But, missy, I never chose to walk this path because it’s in the past. Just like the rule violation that my team commited for video taping from an unautorized vantge point. However, you goons keep it up. Jpeezy, you’re so biased its a joke.
You said there is a hole in Florio’s logic? No there’s not. He’s calling it like it is, its easy to punish players for misconduct who are bums . . . 5th stringers and bad special teamers.
But two marquee players are in sh1t and you don’t hear a peep. Because they need them.
Double standards for stars have long existed in the NFL, but the Steelers, when it comes to personal conduct, are very guilty here.

Rapistburger will be suspended by the league as soon as the indictment comes through. Then the Squealers, their fans, and their season is done. What a darned shame for guys like Katmandu and Frank Burns. Their gods are being burned in effigy around the league and there is nothing they can do about it.

If this were the Ravens in the news, steeler fans wouldnt be able to get enough and us fans would be told to stop whinning…….

  84. Florio = carnival barker
It is getting to be that many of these “articles” (cough cough) are posted based on minimal if any facts, merely to get the lynch mobs, haters, lunatic fringe and supporters whipped into a frenzy to go at it hot and heavy. In that respect he is an expert at what he does. He may get paid based on how many posts a particular thread has?
But, in another respect, he is not much more than a carnival barker getting the masses into the building only for them to see things that are not real, and therefore trashing any integrity this site might have ever had.

    6. Underage girl refuses to reinterview with cops – even after the presumably advise her she committed several criminal acts related to underage drinking that she might be prosecuted for if she does not cooperate.
While I personally think Ben was an idiot for letting this sort of thing happen – being in the wrong place and not making sure his security folks were “on duty” until he is convicted – or pleads guilty to something he is just stupid – and last I checked that is not a crime.

  92. The Steelers have supplanted the Bengals in terms of turds on team average? Hahaha not even close. The Bengals are the pits. The absolute dredges of turdy turds in the NFL. That team is utter garbage. The owner is the laughing stock of the town, and the team itself is a sad joke. Plus when push comes to shove the Steelers have proven they have aren’t. The Bengals don’t have a heart to give.

    ====================
You can’t be serious. The Steelers aren’t even the greatest franchise in NFL history (see Packers, Green Bay) never mind all sports (see NY Yankees, Boston Celtics, and Montreal Canadiens.) Pittsburgh’s all-time won-loss record ranks only 16 out of 32 NFL franchises.
Congratulations on those championships but you may want to consider backing off from the black and gold KoolAid and developing a bit of perspective. Jealousy has nothing to with it.

Gee, makes you wonder why so many of us hate your team and its douchebag, front-runner fans. Greatest franchise in teams sports history, huh?
How about a certain baseball team in NY that has won 27 World Series Titles (I hate them, too, but gotta give ’em their due)?
How about a certain hockey team that plays in Montreal who’s won way more than six Stanley Cups. 23 Actually.
How about a certain basketball team that plays in Boston that’s won multiple NBA titles? 17 to be exact.
The simple fact is that the Steelers – owned by the Rooneys – were among the laughingstocks of sports until 1972. They couldn’t win a bingo match against the senior ladies club at the VFW!
Please get your facts straight before you come on here spouting that nonsense.
P.S. Don’t break your leg jumping off the bangwagon…just like you jumped on.

  99. As a Steelers fan, this is getting to be a very dark time.
The only way you’ll send a drastic enough message is to cut both Roethelisberger and Holmes, and then we’d have a offense that resembles what happened in the late 90’s when we wondered if we could score 15 points a game or so.
But you can’t let your star players continue to do these things and not do something about it. Charged or not, especially with Big Ben, there’s a definitive trend here with him AND Santonio Holmes.
And personally, I believe BOTH of them have been in other incidents that they got away with. Do you really think Holmes stopped smoking pot just because he got arrested for it? I highly doubt it.
And do I think Big Ben will quit putting himself in situations with younger women and want to have sex with them? Nope.

  104. Remember when that one Pittsburgh bum was going around calling himself Ben Roethlisberger’s backup QB and seducing dingy broads from Pittsburgh dive bars?

  105. The Steelers … pristine? Please. No organization has ever been pristine. Devote the next 31 PFT Daily reports to the legal issues the other teams. The reports should mirror today’s … which mirror those of any large employer.
To rebuild the team’s reputation, the Rooneys need to start implementing mandatory behavioral classes for vets as well as rookies and putting whatever behavior clauses they can into new player contracts. If some big names refuse to get with the program and have to be cut, so be it. But those players need to actually be proved guilty of something … which eliminates Roethlisberger from the chopping block, even if he’s charged. Fortunately, the Rooneys aren’t the knee-jerk type.
Based on the material presented in Nevada, that’s an extortion case, and shouldn’t be considered when discussing Roethlisberger’s future. Nothing should be decided re Georgia until there’s a conviction or the Rooneys see EVIDENCE that he sexually assaulted someone. If evidence (as opposed to gossip, rumor, off-the-record stuff) comes out, I’ll join you in demanding his head on a platter. Until then … he’s an innocent man.

    Patriot players are legit?
    Are you serious?
Not long ago, the New York Post noticed and even wrote an article about the Patsies having at least 8 members of their roster with arrest records, including felonies and a few multiple offenders.
    ==========
An article from the NY Post? What, the National Enquirer didn’t have anything? And a column from 27 months ago is “not long ago”? Randy Moss is the only player currently on their roster from that story and the article is talking about things that happened in the mid-1990’s.
I’m familiar with the concept of going on the offensive in order to deflect criticism by changing the subject, but isn’t this a bit of a reach? Or are you simply just as obsessed with the Patriots as ItalianArmyGuy is, to the point where you hang onto two year old columns like that one?

  107. How bad were the cowboys?! Rapheal Septien with little kids, mike irvin smokign crack and with hookers, deoin sandeersa trying to kill himself, troy faikman being “made” to marry lori morgan soeveryone though he liked women!

  108. MAybe DAnny BOY can get The steelers a free trip to IRELAND so all the animals on the team can have a field day over there..there are alot of stupid sheep and cows (aside from Pittsburgh women) that they can do….

  109. If Florio said it, then it must be true.
Funny thing is there aren’t many franchises out there that wouldn’t trade “allegations” for even half the number of lombardi’s the Steelers have in their trophy case.

  112. Most teams have criminals, the only difference is the Steelers win championships while the others watch or brag about making the playoffs LoL! This obviously makes people mad…

That goes for Holmes and Benny the Biter! They put themsleves in those positions just like the dirty old Bengals did when their team was ‘turd-laden!

So what? Every word is true, right?
“And a column from 27 months ago is “not long ago”?”
Not really, 2 years is nothing. Aren’t you Pats fans still chanting “dynasty” even though you haven’t won a SB since ’05? See what I mean?
You still haven’t disputed a word of the article BTW.
“Randy Moss is the only player currently on their roster from that story and the article is talking about things that happened in the mid-1990’s.”
I’ll remember that the next time one of you self righteous jerkoffs bring up the Steelers of the ’70’s and steroids…

  118. Florio has sadly become the NFL version of Nancy Grace. Two players caught in “he said, she said” cases and they are now a group of thugs and low-lifes. How about writing about football?

  119. every team has players that have had some sort of issue at some point in their lives, some teams are just magnified because its the trendy thing to do. right now its trendy to say the steelers are a bunch of thugs, when in reality there have been a handful of steeler players have run ins with johnny law over th past few years. its also trendy to refer to the bengals as a thug collecting organization, yet you’ll see the same issues arise in nearly all of the 32 teams at some point if you look close enough.
to all the steeler fans that blindly defend the team and the players, and hide behind “six rings!”, get over yourself. their is a big difference between choosing to get behind the wheel of a car and choosing to physically assault another person.
and to everyone who is jumping from the “bengals are the bad boyz” to the “steelers are the bad boyz” bandwagon, wake up. its an nfl problem, not a bengals or steelers problem.

  120. steeler-“lady”…yeah right…..
How did you know…my sister is my mother???? I thought I hid that well……you are a geenie-us. Your random use of the caps lock button is interesting….that is why I love you steeler-“lady”….

  121. I was too busy dancing to the disco music in the background of the video to really pay attention to what Florio was saying. Did I miss anything?

  122. Hilarious to see Raven fan chiming in on this topic. Which team was it that gave a contract to a guy who hit and killed someone with his car after he had been drinking?
Welcome to Baltimore, Donte Stallworth – you’ll fit right in. LOL!!!!

  123. @ Hayward Giapunchmi:
First of all I’m not a Pats fan. Though for whatever reason there’s a large portion of the Steeler’s fanbase that seems to be obsessed with them, and feels a need to bring them up even in conversations that have nothing to do with the Patriots.
And I’m not going to bother researching all the allegations from the article; I’ll assume it is true – although the way it is written it’s obvious there was a biased slant to it. But I thought it was pretty lame that much of what they brought up happened over ten years ago, in some cases when the guys were in high school. It’s also worth noting one of the players listed was Mike Vrabel; does that name ring a bell to Steeler fans?
I just think it’s funny how so many Steeler fans who have for so long acted morally superior while mocking teams like the Bengals, Ravens and Cowboys when some of their players got in trouble are now finding themselves with the shoe on the other foot.
Predictably, most are now demanding that everyone wait until someone is convicted, or rationalizing that other teams have done worse; how many Steeler fans were doing that when they were pointing fingers at anything that happened to a current or former player from one of those other teams the past several years?
“Self righteous jerkoff”? You may want to take a look in the mirror.

  124. I’m not one to be calling Florio an idiot, or midget, or stupid, or biased, or a journalist or anything else, but…bring back the Turd Watch Team Standings!!! This is what they are for.

  125. Is Tomlin the problem? I’m sure you all have played connect the dots right? Seems like since he’s been there things have gotten worse on the character side of things. Could be the scouting etc.. but I’m just sayin’

  126. Yada, yada, yada… the 6 rings are in the PAST. Let’s focus on the future, or the lack of, for Ben. He’s crawled into his little hole and is staying there. The atty is doing damage control after Ben admitted to sex whatever with her.
Ben stroked a check to someone. I bet the Rooney’s are steaming mad now with Rapistberger and now Holmes. What is Tomlin doing? Nothing. He got a SB ring but it was COWHER’s team that did it.
The Steelers need to get back to the run. Bruce Ariens got his butt reemed for getting away from it. With Mendenhall, Mr. Fumble, what a waste of a draft pick. Moore kicks his butt.
Ben is going to be clocked this year, if he plays, one time too many. I hope he’s gone because the big money starts this year. THE 6 RINGS ARE GREAT BUT THEY ARE IN THE PAST. Listen to Springsteen’s Glory Days.

  127. @Reba: so past championships don’t matter? Why do they even have them then? ALL SB’s are in the past, dumbass. So you’re saying that the Saints now aren’t the current champs because it’s in the past? Past greatness in the NFL is measured by Lombardi’s, it shows who the overall best teams and orginizations are. That won’t change, esp for the Steelers, so keep yappin and we’ll keep telling you to shut up.

  128. I love the fact that you dunces are still claiming the Steelers “fixed” the superbowl, or paid off the ref’s or however it goes. Give it a rest already. And the steroid thing? Maybe there are guys that do ‘roids on the Steelers, but if that’s the case I’m sure they aren’t the only ones, I’m sure are doing it too. Don’t throw stones…

  129. Besides malalugas dui the bengals have been choir boys for the past 3 or 4 years…get up to date on all the felons lurking on all these other teams in the NFL .

  130. No ones saying the steelers fixed the super bowl…However it is commonly known that the steelers #1 fan in america is mr. goodell…
