With Donovan McNabb in Washington, the Raiders must mentally prepare again for life with JaMarcus Russell.

An unnamed team executive spoke with Thomas George of Fanhouse, touting Russell’s early connection with new offensive coordinator Hue Jackson.

The name Bruce Gradkowski wasn’t mentioned once in an article that ended with optimism Russell could “lift up” the Raiders. There will be competition at quarterback, but it sounds like Russell is in the driver’s seat. Again.

“We have to develop an attitude, a belief as a team and organization of winning thinking and preparation,” the source told George. “That has to come from JaMarcus and from his position. It’s his job to lose. He is aware of that.’'

We wonder if Gradkowski is aware of that too.
