Gerald McCoy has curious cinema tastes

The e-mail from the folks at JoeBucsFan.com sat unopened in the stack for most of the day on Friday, with the subject line “Gerald McCoy’s favorite movie.” At one point, Florio Jr. (who has commenced his apprenticeship aimed at eventually taking this thing over, primarily because he believes it will get him out of going to college) came in, saw the unopened message in the stack, and said, “Don’t you want to know what Gerald McCoy’s favorite movie is?”

“I don’t care,” I replied. (And then I told him to go get his shine box.)

So I accidentally clicked on the unopened message this morning. And I learned that the favorite movie of Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is The Little Mermaid.

McCoy made the admission during a live chat on NFL.com. “I grew up watching the movie with my sister, because I was the only boy,” McCoy said. “Most of the time I was playing with action figures, but I like music and little mermaid had a lot of music, so it became my favorite.”

Gerald? We appreciate the candor. But when they’re initiating the rookies at whichever team draft, you won’t be singing the Sooners fight song. You’ll be singing Part of Your World.
