Charges against Jeff Reed dropped

All the remaining charges against Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Jeff Reed stemming from an incident outside a bar in October have been dismissed.

Jim McKinnon of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that a city magistrate today dismissed the remaining charges against Reed after Reed completed community service.

Police had accused Reed of interfering with them as they tried to cite Steelers tight end Matt Spaeth for urinating in a parking lot. Charges against Reed for resisting arrest and simple assault had already been dropped, and charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness were dropped as well now that Reed has completed 40 hours of community service.

Shortly after the arrest, Reed apologized for being a distraction and said, “I decline talking about the charges, but I would like to say that I have the utmost respect for this community, this team and this organization.”
