Seahawks double down on Williams wide receiver busts

Really, not enough attention was paid to the Mike Williams vs. Reggie Williams tryout battle royale that took place during Pete Carroll’s first minicamp in Seattle.

Lucky for us, the battle will continue all summer.

Eric Williams of the Tacoma News Tribune reports the Seahawks have signed Reggie Williams. Florio passed along the news before the crack of dawn that Mike Williams was joining Seattle.

“Historically if you look back at our past we love big guys, and have had a lot of success with them and haven’t changed out attitude on that at all, so it would be nice,” Carroll said.

Carroll also could use receivers that separate from defenders, but these signings are only for depth. If nothing else, Reggie Williams showed he can block in Jacksonville and move the chains as third-down receiver.

He would appear to have a much better chance to make Seattle’s team than Mike Williams.
