Mike Holmgren sounds willing to pull a Mike Ditka in order to get Sam Bradford.
We don’t particularly believe Holmgren, but it may not matter. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams will take Bradford.
“There will be no surprises,” a Rams source tells Bernie Miklasz.
We don’t doubt said Rams source, but Sam Bradford says he still hasn’t heard from the Rams, which would indicate there’s still just a tiny sliver of doubt left regarding the top overall pick.
UPDATE: Miklasz says as of 6:52 ET the Rams have not received a call from the Browns. It looks like Holmgren is just trying to cover his ass in case Bradford turns out to be great. Why else would he tell a national reporter an hour before the draft of his intent?
