The Bucs didn’t want to take any chances.
They gave up a fifth-round to move up three spots and select Illinois wide receiver Arrelious Benn with the No. 39 overall pick. (So basically a fifth-round pick is worth three spots in the draft. Or Ted Ginn. Or Santonio Holmes.)
Benn was once thought as a first-round pick, but a slow forty time and so-so junior season hurt his stock in 2009. Benn could be a little rough around the edges, but has great skills after the catch.
He’s the rare rookie receiver that will probably be asked to start from day one.
