Rams keep pick, select Roger Saffold

So much for the top of the second round inspiring a bidding war.

The Rams selected Indiana tackle Roger Saffold to open the second round.  He should eventually move to right tackle, finally pushing Alex Barron out of town.

Jason La Canfora says the Rams kept the pick partly because they knew Saffold was going to be taken quickly after them.  The Vikings, Bucs, and Raiders were all believed to be high on Saffold.

The lack of a trade indicates that teams may not think Jimmy Clausen is worth trading up for.
