Cardinals get value with O’Brien Schofield

We’re at the point of the draft where there aren’t a lot of big names left. So when we see one we recognize, we’re going to do a post.

The Cardinals took Wisconsin product O’Brien Schofield with the No. 130 overall pick of the draft, which represents great value. Schofield tore his ACL in the Senior Bowl, but many talent evaluators believed he was one of the better pass rushers in the draft before that.

He will likely start the year on the physically unable to perform list, but should return as an outside linebacker. The Cardinals could wind up getting first-round value for a third day pick.

UPDATE: Cardinals G.M. Rod Graves on the move: “We feel he’s a first-round talent. . . . We gambled a little bit and felt it was well worth it.”
