And the good news for one of Ben Roethlisberger’s bodyguards is that he may have time to take on some extra shifts.
According to ESPN.com, Anthony Barravecchio could soon be losing his job as a police officer in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. A majority vote of the City Council would be necessary to oust Barravecchio; per the report, the outcome currently would be 8-0 in favor of dismissing him. (Then again, there’s always a chance someone will change his or her vote.)
His lawyer, Michael Santicola, takes issue with the report. “That is the complete opposite of the information I have,” Santicola said, adding that in his view there are “no grounds for
dismissal.” (Frankly, Santicola’s propensity to run his mouth hasn’t helped his client’s cause.)
Council member Robert Barone told ESPN that he didn’t know whether the vote would be unanimous to fire him. “We’re going to do it the right way. We have to read the whole investigation and put it together like adults,” Barone said.
Barravecchio has come under fire due to witness accounts that he led the woman who accused Roethlisberger of rape into the area of a Milledgeville, Georgia nightclub prior to the alleged incident.
