Rams minicamp one-liners

Brandon Joyce, a former Illinois State offensive lineman, was invited to minicamp on Thursday and was out there on Friday — after first getting permission to miss work from his boss at his day job.

Said Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo of QB Sam Bradford, “I wanted to see his command of the huddle, his interaction with his teammates. And he kind of stepped to the forefront. You could tell he was the guy that’s done this before.”

I was definitely a little nervous,” Bradford said. “I woke up a little before my alarm went off this morning and all I was thinking about was today.

Bradford completed his first practice pass, a rollout to the right to tight end Fendi Onobun.

WR Travis Brown missed the afternoon practice after being struck in the throat with a ball in the morning, but he wasn’t injured.

OT Rodger Saffold says he’s honored to follow in the footsteps of Orlando Pace.

The Rams had 68 players on hand, including 11 draft picks, 13 rookie free agents, 37 players participating on a tryout basis and seven non-rookies who do not have an accrued season in the NFL.
