Bucs add five, cut two

The Buccaneers conducted a rookie minicamp over the weekend.  In the wake of the session, five guys now have jobs with the team.  And two don’t.

The Bucs announced that five undrafted free agents have been signed:  receiver Chris Brooks (Nebraska); guard Lee Grimes (Texas A&M); defensive end George Johnson (Rutgers), fullback Rendrick Taylor (Clemson), and cornerback Darrell Pasco (Georgia Southern).

Gone are guard Vladimir Richard (Tennessee) and defensive end Matt Featherston (Texas A&M).  Both were recently signed by the Bucs.

  1. The Bucs are in the early stages of a rebuilding program. It always s’ucks. But you just have to take the lumps and hope for better days.

  2. actually their “shootin” to put their best players on the field. If that means “young” so be it….

Hey, Genius, this is an article about cuttings and signings after the “BUCS ROOKIE MINICAMP”. Only rookies would be involved in these moves. The article literally means that 5 rookies signed and 2 rookies were cut. And did you miss the whole “Youth Movement Speech”, at the presser where DBrooks and the rest of the old vets were cut??
The team has been on the decline since the Super Bowl, only being patched up for a couple of first round exits, from the playoffs. Our past drafts have been terrible, therefore the Bucs lack those “homegrown” vets, brought up through the system. Quit your b.s. complaining.

  4. Freeman is going to be a top Q.B. by year three. Great to see the Bucs building through the draft. Its the best way for a franchise to compete year in and year out. If they draft well that is.
