Tony Wyllie offered chance to replace Karl Swanson in D.C.

With long-time V.P. of public relations Karl Swanson leaving the Redskins, the process of replacing him already has resulted in an offer being made to his successor.

Rick Maese of the Washington Post reports that the job has been offered to Tony Wyllie, who serves as V.P. of communications in Houston. He has spent 10 years with the Texans, predating their official arrival as an NFL team in 2002.

The fact that Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan spent four years in Houston will lead to obvious speculation that the son of the head coach influenced the move. At a minimum, it’s safe to say that, if Kyle Shanahan had any serious misgivings about Wyllie, the job never would have been offered to him.
