Jake Locker will concentrate on football

Seen as a possible No.1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft, Washington quarterback Jake Locker has decided to concentrate solely on football over baseball this summer.

Our buddy John Taylor has all the details on the decision over at CFT. It seems like an easy one to make from the outside. Locker was a tenth-round pick of the Los Angeles Angels last year and received a sizable contract, but he knows his earning potential is higher in football.

Still, Locker’s draft status is hardly guaranteed. PFT reported that Locker didn’t get a first round grade from the NFL Collegiate Advisory Committee, so his hype may outweigh his actual stock for now.

We think Locker will have a strong season, but it’s also worth remembering that Ole Miss’ Jevan Snead was seen as a top-ten pick at this point last year. He went undrafted.
