Dolphins cut Reggie Torbor

Dolphins linebacker Reggie Torbor was released Thursday, a victim of a high salary and a crowded position in Miami.

According to NFLPA records, Torbor was set to make $3.05 million this year and next.  He was set to battle for playing time at inside linebacker with Channing Crowder and Tim Dobbins behind free agent pickup Karlos Dansby.

Even though Crowder’s status is uncertain for the start of the season, the Dolphins didn’t feel it necessary to keep Torbor around.  Torbor started two games last year and recorded 37 tackles with four passes defensed.

  1. Reggie Torbor is still in the NFL? I am as surprised to hear this as I was to hear that Art Linkletter died yesterday. I thought he had been dead since 1978.

  2. Classic case of inflated salary. He scored big in free agency… but proved to be only “decent”. He’d probably still have a job for half of that $3 mil he’s due. It will be interesting to see if he lowers his demands… and catches on somewhere. Otherwise his career is over.

  3. Miami Should Sign Keith Bulluck!
He’s Way Better Then Reggie Torbor!
    Please Sign Keith Bulluck Miami!

  4. C’mon man. klecko, wow. Okay, yes Reggie started twice, however, that doesn’t mean he only played in 2 games. He actually played in 13 games this year.

  5. Just saving up some money to give a big payday to OJ Atogwe. Torbor sucked and the Dolphins have tons of ILB’s with Karlos Dansby, Channing Crowder, Tim Dobbins, A.J. Edds, J.D. Folsom, and Austin Spitler. Parcells has built the foundation and the Dolphins are taking back the AFC East this year.

  6. hey Tim
dont worry about klecko hes just another dumb jets fan,if he believes a player with 37 tackles in two games would EVER get cut what an idiot, that would have to be the two greatest games of all time lmao!!
I would like the Giants to bring him in for competition at backer he would be a solid back up to Sintim, the depth behind him is extremely weak, just a rookie drafted in the 6th round from william and mary that is actually going from DE to a 4-3 OLB, so we need depth at that position bad and Reggie use to play for us and hes a REALLY big linebacker.

  7. Giant Fan here – I’d Take Torbor back – but not for 3.5 mil – Hope Gmen look into if he will sign for reasonable price.

  8. If this article had not been posted, I don’t think anyone would have noticed.
That tells us all we need to know
