Last week the Harris County District Court delayed the drug possession trial of Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly until today. And today the court delayed the trial once again -- and indicated that another delay is likely.
The trial from last week that bumped Jolly’s trial down the calendar hasn’t concluded, and although Jolly’s trial has been rescheduled for Friday, there’s a strong likelihood it won’t happen then either, the court coordinator told the Green Bay Press-Gazette, because another case with higher priority is also scheduled for Friday.
Jolly was arrested on July 8, 2008, and charged with possession of at least 200 milligrams of codeine. He could be sentenced to as much as 20 years in prison if convicted.
Jolly is on the list of restricted free agents who have not signed their one-year qualifying offers. He has not been working out at the Packers’ facility this offseason.
