Southern Miss baseball one loss from elimination

The Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team was crushed 10-1 by the Clemson Tigers in Friday night’s opening round of the NCAA tournament.

Thus, Brett Favre’s alma mater is one loss away from elimination.

(Note that we’re taking this information straight from Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. We actually have no idea how college baseball works, nor do we care.)

Last month, Favre pledged to play football in 2010 if Southern Miss qualified for the College World Series.

The Golden Eagles were scheduled to square off with Jacksonville State on Saturday, but the game is currently in a rain delay.

(A rain delay? What kind of “sport” is this?)
