Source: DeSean Jackson’s absence isn’t contract related

With the sudden disappearance of Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson from OTAs coming only days after Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis ditched voluntary practices due to displeasure with his contract and at a time when Jackson ranks among the most underpaid players in the game, many league observers instantly assumed Jackson finally is taking action on getting a big raise.

Not so, we’re told.

Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, the absence isn’t related to Jackson’s contract. Instead, he’s handling some personal business, and he’s expected to return later in the week.

The last portion conflicts with a tweet from Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, who reports that Jackson is in Atlanta and that he’ll then return to his home in L.A. for the rest of the week.
