Aaron Rodgers calls Tony Kornheiser "stupid," "dumb" and "terrible"

In 2008, when Tony Kornheiser was a Monday Night Football commentator for ESPN, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers once sat down with him for a pre-game production meeting.

It would be an extreme understatement to say that Rodgers came away unimpressed.

In an interview with ESPN Radio in Milwaukee, Rodgers went off on Kornheiser and said he was embarrassingly unprepared for his job.

“You know who was better than Tony Kornheiser? Dennis Miller was ten times better,” Rodgers said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “Dennis Miller was a great comedian, but one of the worst Monday Night Football guys ever. And he was ten times better than Tony Kornheiser. His stuff was actually funny. Tony wasn’t funny at all. He did absolutely no research. We’d sit in those production meetings and he would add absolutely nothing to the conversation. I’d be like, ‘What are we doing here? This is stupid.'”

Rodgers praised Monday Night Football play-by-play man Mike Tirico as coming into production meetings thoroughly prepared. Kornheiser? Not so much.

“You get in there with Tony and he’s asking you all these dumb questions that have no application to the game you are playing or anything you are doing,” Rodgers said. “He’s terrible. . . . I don’t think he’s funny. I don’t think he’s insightful. I don’t think knows, really, anything about sports.”

Most football fans regard Ron Jaworski as one of the top analysts in the business, but Rodgers isn’t particularly thrilled with Jaworski, either.

“I like him, but, when I was coming out, he did the worst segment in the history of TV about me talking about my fundamentals,” Rodgers said of Jaworski. “It was not even close to anywhere near my fundamentals. The first time I met him, someone introduced me to him and I said, ‘Yeah I know him. He’s the guy who ripped me before the draft.’ The rest of the night he told me how great I was. I was like, ‘I know your song and dance.’ And now he loves me.”

The whole interview, in which Rodgers criticized other ESPN employees and took a shot at the Detroit Lions, is well worth listening to. Rodgers comes across as an entertaining and engaging player who’s not afraid to speak his mind. When he retires, he’d be perfect for the Monday Night Football booth. Or as co-host of Pardon the Interruption.

  1. Brett Favre thinks Aaron Rodgers Sucks and was unprepared to steal his job.

  2. Rodgers is a gag so he should focus more on not choking in a big game like he did last year with his turnover at the end.

  3. Patrick, Theisman and McGuire were great.
Replacing McGuire with Kornheiser was the worst move ever made

  4. So this is why Kornheiser couldn’t shut up about Favre every. single. time. Rodgers was on the screen.

  5. maybe aaron should focus on trimming down the int’s and not about calling out everyone under the sun

  6. I thought the same thing when Korheiser was in the booth before Aaron Rodgers first PRESEASON game vs. cincinati, and he said something to the effect of this game for aaron rodgers is the most pressure packed situation ever for an NFL qb. That game. Just a perfect example of why kornheiser should host a show on E! (that would get cancelled) rather than work at ESPN. Way too much drama analysis, way to little applicable sports analysis.

  7. I dunno, sounds like a bit of an a–hole move to me. And I’m a Packer fan. Don’t want this guy to get over confident now…

  8. sounds like Rogers is sensitive about taking criticism… that or he hates Monday nights because Monday nights is FARVE time…. lol

  9. Rodgers sat in on a production meeting(s) for MNF? I thought he was the starting QB for the Packers….

  10. Care to point out the part where Rodgers calls Kornheiser stupid? This is very questionable journalism, MDS. The headline is outrageous.

  11. Rodgers is dead on… Kornheiser is an idiot. He has NO business in the booth on MNF.

  12. He’s right, Kornholio is simply clueless and awful. One of the many reasons I no longer watch bspn.

  13. Wow! I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing! lol!
I appreciate his honesty, it’s really refreshing! At the same time… Does that make Rodgers kind of a arrogant jerk? At the same time, he kind of has a right too I suppose?

  14. Not a Packer fan, but when he’s right, he’s right. Jaws and Kornholio blow. Jaws is in love with himself. While he was pretty good QB, he was far from the greatest that ever played and his “fundamentals” weren’t perfect either. Plus, given the amount of turf Lawrence Taylor personally fed him over his career, you would think the guy would be more forgiving of QBs that aren’t getting enough time to throw. Instead, he berates them for not getting the pass out quicker. Which is amazing coming from a guy that sacked 363 times in his career. I won’t watch MNF anymore unless it’s a game I’m really interested in and then I mute the volume. ESPN is doing it’s damnedest to ruin sports.

  15. Rodgers is right except for one thing, Dennis Miller wasnt funny either.
All the media is the same, Many oppinions, and glorify themselves when theyre right. BUT never come out and apologize or admit when theyre wrong!
    Sound familiar Gloryhole????????????

  16. Good to hear Aaron express some honest opinions instead of the usual bland responses today’s athletes usually give. Also provided some PFT content instead of a post about some sixth round draft pick signing a deal.

  17. Yeah – didn’t like the Korn. Didn’t like Miller either. Not sure why they axed Boomer Esaiason years ago then bring in a stand-up comedian. That was a head-scratcher.

  18. Patrick, Theisman and McGuire were great? Really? They were the worst 3-man booth in the history of sports. You cant be serious right? Oh how short are memories are now….

  19. Sounds like he has a few good seasons under his belt and is turning into an arrogant jackass. I see a DUI or rape accusation in his future!

  20. Kornhole is and will always be an idiot who amuses only himself (and i guess a few dumb espn execs)

  21. @Rodgers is a gag so he should focus more on not choking in a big game like he did last year with his turnover at the end.
    ______________________________
Seriously? The fact that they scored 45 points, Rodgers threw for 423 yards, 4 touchdowns and ran for a touchdown is irellevant? The Defense gave up 51 points, how the hell are you going to bash Rodgers. He fumbled a ball, where he was getting face masked, and bull rushed cause the O-Line didn’t block worth a damn. Wow. How good were you in football to consider that choking?

  22. Looks like Rodgers pretty much nailed it. He should have added most of ESPN sucks

  23. Did he mention that Kornheiser was orange?
Sorry, I like PTI and Kornheiser. TK’s role in that booth wasn’t to re-hash what Theismann already brought up or to do play-by-play like Tirico.
I think what Rodgers is missing, and a lot of athletes miss, is that it isn’t just a football game. It’s entertainment.
I think Rodgers was completely unprepared for that overtime against the Cardinals this year.

  24. coxypoo are you serious? have you seen favre’s THREE CONSECUTIVE season ending INT’S?!? Rodgers will be fine, and I hate the cheese-packers

  25. I’m a hardcore vikings fan and even I like AR. I think the media humps him a little hard, but hell we have to watch what they do with Brett Favre. Rodgers is gonna be damn good, still has a little work to do though…

  26. Can’t wait for todays PFT now, haha! Hope Wilbon doesn’t let this go. Strange that Rodgers is all of a sudden speaking out about these guys. Guess he feels pretty secure now(which means he didn’t earlier in his career).

  27. PTI is the best and only good show on ESPN. I prefer MW though as I am from Chicago 😉

  28. i agree 100%!!! he is terrible and not even remotely funny. i don’t know how many times last season i was wondering out loud what the hell this guy was talking about.

  29. You dont usually see that kind of criticism go public… $20 he issues an apology in 24 hrs. Also, correct me if I’m wrong… but Rodgers wasn’t around when Miller was on MNF– how would he know how prepared or what kind of questions Miller asked to compare the two?
That being said, I agree. Kornheiser sucked on MNF.

  30. “He’s stupid, dumb and terrible and I’m gonna tell my big brother to beat him up”…….I don’t like Tony K. either, but ARod sounds rather immature himself. It was a senseless rant that has no meaningful value and Arod would’ve been much better served to …..say nothing.

  31. Kornhole sucks, Aaron Rogers swallows
6-10 for the fudge packers in 2010. last in the nfc north behind detroit

  32. Mrs. Rodgers has done zip to earn anyone’s respect. In fact a 40 year old QB kicked his ass twice last year. So, shut up bitch until you do something worthwhile…
    Tony K.

  33. I agree on Korhneiser.
But GayRod comes off small in ripping Jaworski
GayRod, there is a reason you fell all the way to the Packers in that draft. It wasn’t because of what Jaworski said, others saw it too.
The knock on him coming out WAS his mechanics(fundamentals). He sounds like a petulant child.
How dare anyone question my talents type of thing.
Jaworski watches more film than any other analyst in the business, I would trust his judgement.
Talk about holding a grudge, Hey Gay Rod, there is always room for improvement, you aren’t perfect.
You need to work on your punting. Just as a for instance.
In reality, how about you learn to get rid of the ball a little quicker? Here’s a hint…..that’s a fundamental!

  34. What is the deal with MNF? It is the spotlight game of the week, should have automatic ratings glory, and should attract the best in the business for the “color” and analysis. Instead we get the likes of Rush Limbutt, Tony Cornholer, and Dennis (I love to hear my own voice) Miller.
Is it that impossible to find someone with a knowledge and love of the game who knows when to talk and when to shut up?
Good for Rodgers and his willingness to tell the truth about this week by week fiasco.

  35. “maybe aaron should focus on trimming down the int’s and not about calling out everyone under the sun”
    ———————–
He was tied for the fewest INTs in the league by full-time starters.

  36. Aaron Rodgers should ask Washington Capitals fans how they feel about TK. He ran Scott Stevens and Dino Ciccarelli out of town.

Really? The only reason the Packers were in the Game and went to overtime was because he came through big time when it mattered. If you watched that game Rodgers kept driving down the field to score only to watch his defense let Arizona come right back. Even Manning or Favre wouldn’t be able to do a thing against that jailbreak the Packers Oline gave up. The guy is a stud and will be for sometime to come.

    ——————————————–
Theisman great? Get out of your home quickly. There’s obviously a gas leak.

  39. Rodgers is spot on.
He violated a rule…..he criticized the media. They get paid to chatter, Rodgers does not.
Let’s see if this conversation-topic ends up bothering him.

  40. A. Kornheiser was horrible but the third guy on Monday Night football over the past decade tends to be (that includes Gruden;s rooting for his favorite teams to win)
    B. The rest is Rogers bitterness. Remember, he sat in the draft room for what felt like forever and probably listened to everyone on ESPN rip him apart and pointing out flaws as every team passed him by. That’s pretty much kicking someone when they’re down especially when there was a chance he was going to be the 1st overall pick.

  41. @coxypoo: Can you really call Rodgers a choker for that? A guy swatted the ball out of his hand. I would think a better example would be Brett Favre throwing a late-game interception against the Saints in the NFC Championship Game.
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if in a few years (when Manning and Brady’s careers begin to wind down) Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the game.

  42. What a prima Donna. Not surprising though, this is the same clown who cried to the press when a 5-year old flipped him off and when Favre didn’t return his calls. Keep in mind this is the same guy who told packer fans to”STFU” and then demanded a huge raise after he played only 4 games. Last season when McLardy tried to coach j not to hold onto the ball for so long tacking sack after sack, he told the press he didn’t care what McLardy thinks, he isn’t changing his play for anyone. A real class act. To top ot all off he spends ever off season working with his publicist in trying to get his picture into the Hollywood tabloids with a different girl each week. I laugh when people call Favre a diva when one of the biggest ones in the league is the current starting QB for the packers.

Brett Favre thinks Aaron Rodgers Sucks and was unprepared to steal his job.
neither have rings (well, Favre has one) but Rodgers is probably dead on.

  44. SATAN —
Though your screenname is awful, I agree with your post. Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann (not the one of today), and to a lesser extent Paul McGuire were great a great SNF team. Tirico is pretty good I guess, but doesn’t seem to get to excited on big plays the way Patrick did. Bring back Mike Patrick and his “HOLY COW”‘s to Primetime NFL football.

  45. First sex preds on the Pukers, now their loser QB acts like a jealous little bitch. Typical for Pukerville…

  46. I liked Kornheiser’s radio show, like him on PTI, but ya, he’s like a deer in headlights on MNF. Jaws and tirico will be calling the game and he’ll come out of left field with a stupid comment, he did that quite often

  47. Kornheiser was so homosexually inclined to Brett Favre it made my gay friends embarrassed. At least they know, thanks to Tony, that “effete” doesn’t sell on MNF.
Guess Kornheiser realized he lost Favre’s to Peter King and can live the rest of his life pretending to be heterosexual.

  48. korn ball does suck, and he hates the raiders.
he looks like a creepy child molester

  49. Not even a slight mention from PFT of the THREE different charity events over the weekend that he attended and talked about as well?
    Our priorities suck.
We all complain when athletes aren’t honest and give cookie-cutter answers, but then when an athlete finally is honest and candid we blow up and scrutinize every little word to make them think twice about doing it again!

  50. I live in Milwaukee and listened to this live on 540am. This interview was mostly tongue-in-cheek. It was done live at an Andy North charity golf event with lots of joking around. The radio host interviewing Rodgers is a Kornheiser fan, hard to ever tell if he’s serious though, and he and Rodgers always have a joking banter back and forth. Looks bad out of context though. So all the people getting bent out of shape, simmer down.

  51. Agree with him on Kornheiser.
He sounds like a dick when talking about Jaws.
Still, its nice to hear an athlete take the muzzle off and actually say what he means and means what he says.

  52. love Aaron Rdogers, and the 2009 Fantasy Football trophy in my house because of him

  53. So Rodgers thinks that only people who were successful at a particular position should be able to comment about it? Did he ever watch Emmitt Smith as an analyst?
Rodgers comes across as pretty ignorant to the TV process in this interview. Kornheiser wasn’t supposed to ask questions specific to the game being played. He was supposed to provide a different perspective (an idea which failed, but nonetheless in was his job).

  54. Someone should have advised AR that TV revenue goes into team revenue that in part pays his salary. I guess it’s OK to be refreshing with opinions at times, but sometimes it makes sense to think a bit before you open your mouth. Somehow this comes on as sour grapes from a guy who obviously thinks we should care about his opinion because he’s now a star…tell me again, what exactly has he won in the NFL to have this star status? Oh yeah I remember now, fantasy points!

  55. I applaud Rogers moxy to speak his mind and be real
but in all fairness, he can say Tony doesnt know football, but can not say he does NOT know anything about sports, he’s been covering sports as one of the nations top members of the media for almost as long as Rodgers has been alive. Kornheiser knows his stuff, theres a reason why he and Wilbon continue solid ratings on PTI
I think if they kept Kornheiser and Gruden as the 1-2 punch it would have been A LOT better and more entertaining for all, I just feel the chemistry would have been Kornheiser’s one-liners and Grudens analysis would have made for great tv
But I again, have gained more respect for Rodgers as I love it when an athlete speaks his mind, more athletes should be like that
and Dennis Miller nor Kornheiser were THAT bad, they were ok… Trust me, I’ve heard and seen worse commentators, I dont wanna throw anyone under the bus like I usually would, its a good day, Lakers-Celtics and Strausburg,
lets not ruin this beautiful day in sports.

  56. I love PTI and think Kornheiser has legitimately insightful views for the most part on that program, but Rodgers is right about the fact that Tony has no place on MNF. Not only does he seem unprepared, he seems lacking in fundamental football knowledge. He’s much better off in a controlled and primarily scripted environment like PTI than he is in a broadcast booth at a live action event.
But is he worse than Dennis Miller? That’s taking it a bit far. As ill-suited for the job as Miller? Sure.
As much hyperbole as fans and the media use in analyzing QBs’ performances and overall ability, this hatchet job by Rodgers sort of seems like equal and opposite sour grapes and makes him look petty. He should have a long career ahead of him, so he might want to be a little more thoughtful about choosing his battles.

  57. “Care to point out the part where Rodgers calls Kornheiser stupid? This is very questionable journalism, MDS.”
It has been pretty obvious for a long time that, “Having the reading comprehension of an average 12-year old,” is not a job requirement to work at PFT.

  58. Kornheiser’s man crush on Favre is annoying.
Rodgers has done plenty to prove himself. 1st QB ever to throw for over 4k yards in his 1st two seasons. Winning record last year w/ great stats. Came out from under all the Favre controversy and played his ass off.
What have ya’ll done that merits having an opinion about Rodgers? You don’t like him fine, but you can’t knock his play. I guess you can, but it just proves you are an idiot.
I’m glad he’s pissed and plays with something to prove. Better than being a prima donna who thinks he is above the team, and also believes (and is mostly right) that the whole league revolves around him. amirite?

  59. @MrHumble
It was an interview. You want him to say nothing? typical queens fan with a dumb post

  60. I avoid ESPN as much as possible and watch ARod every time he’s on TV. But that’s just me.

  61. Rodgers should shut up after that 423 yard, 5 TD embarassment against AZ. Who is this Rodgers guy? The way people talk about him you would think he just came on the scene and started having 4000 yard, 30 TD seasons. Get back to me when he wins 4 whole playoff games in a span of 13 years and THEN we’ll talk about being a great quarterback.

  62. Rodgers has always had a chip on his shoulder. But that’s what drives him. Not unlike Donovan McNabb, Drew Brees, even Brett Favre. The trick is to not let that chip get too big and weigh you down.

  63. @coxypoo
I think he saw his predecessor lose so many big games on the last play that he thought that was what he was supposed to do. He’ll get it turned around this year now that he knows that’s not what’s supposed to happen

  64. Kornhole is and will always be an idiot who amuses only himself (and i guess a few dumb espn execs)

  65. Looks like Aaron missed nap time and was feeling a little grouchy. Seems he can’t take criticism; that should work out well for an NFL QB. I like T.K. and admit MNF was not always his best work but his radio show was CLASSIC. Most sports fans don’t get him because his level of intelligence is a step or two above ours and requires us to think. One last thing for those who have complained how bad Kornheiser was last season, TK wasn’t in the booth last season, Gruden replaced him and quite effectively I must say, as I believe Tony would as well.

  66. What people forget about AR in that Arizona game is that he gave them all the momentum tostart the game with that careless int. Also, in OT he chocked twice. Once with the fumble( the line did a good job protecting, the sack came from an outside blitz that took 3-seconds to get there and the so calle face mask occured AFTER ridgers lost the ball) and once the play before when he overthrew a WIDE FREAKIN OPEN Jennings for the would be winning TD.

    ======================
Great to know we live in a world where people still thinks its funny to insult people by calling them homosexual.

  69. @indycards
actually, the example doesn’t get much better then with AR, double OT choke. Unless you want to include your buy Manning choking I’m the SB with that careless INT. Favre’s int was the same as an incompletion since a fg from that distance was very unlikely. It was further then longwell ever kicked before. There was a better chance if it getting blocked and getting run back for TD then a record made fg. So favre’s int led to OT which was most likely going to happen any way after the 12 men on the field penalty. Where as AR’s and Mannings turnovers DIRECTLY led to their teams loss.

  70. Don’t get me wrong I like Rodgers and I think he is a good QB, but if he indeed called Kornheiser, dumb , stupid etc that is uncalled for, just say he was unprepared during your segment. It seems like Rodgers got his panties tied up in a bunch. Worry about beating Favre this upcoming season and not journalist son.

  71. I have to agree with AR about both Kornheiser and Jaws. Kornheiser is just way too easy of a target for me to rip on. I just want to ask ESPN one question though, as the supposed World Wide Leader he is the best you could come up with?
About two years ago I saw Jaws on PTI pick a winner for a Monday Night game. On NFL live, which followed PTI, he picked the other team. He certainly does the “song and dance” that AR calls him out on.

  72. MDS, you realize that Aaron Rodgers only used one of those words in reference to Kornheiser, right?
And that the word “terrible” was the only word that Rodgers actually called Kornheiser?
And that legitimate journalists don’t just pick and choose words to claim people said, take them out of context, and put them in the headline?
Good lord. I’m a Vikes fan, but I’ve always been impressed with Aaron Rodgers’ composure. This headline completely misrepresents him.

  73. I’ll bet that Aaron Rodgers can’t wait until Tony Kornheiser, Keith Olberman, and Joe Buck become the new MNF broadcast team…

you’ve never played organized football have you? You have no idea what i is like out there on the field do you? Looks like everyone was wrong about Rodgers and his fundamentals. Pro Bowl starter in his second year playing. Super Bowl champion in his third or fourth year playing. Go strap on a helmet and padsand go play the game before calling on of the best in the game Gay

  75. so much criticism for aaron rogers. the last person to have his job that actually succeeded – steve young.
as a dolphins fan i have had to wait about 20 years to find someone that can play QB. our wait might be over – it might not.
the packers had no wait at all after their icon left.
    greedy people in these parts.

  76. Man, Rogers comes off as a huge douchebag in this interview. I agree that Tony was terrible on MNF. In fact, HE agrees. He makes fun of how bad he was all the time. Tony Kornheiser has been writing sports columns for the Washington Post longer than Rogers has been alive. Stan Van Gundy went after Mike Wilbon a couple weeks ago, which was a bad idea. This is also a bad idea. Both of them are so widely respected throughout the sports world. Rogers is overmatched. Tony is corky, and sometimes obnoxious, and often rude, but one thing he knows is sports. Go F yourself Aaron.

  77. Rodgers is just mad. During pre-pre production, Kornheihser didn’t have the common courtesy to offer Rodgers a reach around.
Rodgers is a chump just like the beady eyed sniveling douchy Packer turd fans. Just the sight of a Packer fan makes me want to punch one in the face.

  78. Good for Aaron Rodgers – It wasn’t just that Kornheiser was not good on MNF. It was that he never offered any comment of any substance. It was amazing how little he knew about football. His knowledge was clearly limited to general gossip and front page stories. Beyond that, he was unable to talk, and even on those types of stories, he never had anything to add – he would just repeat headlines that we were all well aware of. And I agree with Rodgers – Kornheiser was worse than Dennis Miller. Miller was what he was, it was just a bad fit. Kornheiser is supposed to be a sports guy. But he is not – he knows his headlines – which is enough to talk about something for 20 seconds on PTI, but not enough when you have to talk throughout a 3 hour football game.

  79. When are we gonna be able to get an NFL broadcast on sundays/mondays where you have the option to tune in with no commentay- only on field sound from miked players and coaches. Commentary is for the ignorant. On field sound is for the true fans, so someone should at least attempt to make it available.

  80. Rodgers is spot on. Kornheiser’s analysis was embarrassingly bad. He would act like he was really contributing something when really it was stuff I thoroughly knew by the time I was 8-years-old. That’s not an exaggeration. His analysis, and jokes, were actually 3rd-grade level.
And ESPN has become nothing but a collection of a$$ clowns in shiny, new suits.
And PTI sucks as well. I used to watch it sometimes until I just realized what a waste of my life it was.

  81. Dierdorf, Miller, and Kornhieser(sp?) were the worst MNF personalities of all time. Dierdorf said the stupidest things I’ve ever heard (aside from Emmitt) on MNF. Miller wasn’t remotely funny (although he would get a gem in a couple of times a year). What can you say about Kornhole? Except that everything he does and says is just annoying. I think we should give up trying to find a third person for the broadcast. Thiesman sucked as well but at least every time he pissed me off I could yell “Hey thiesman LT says HI.” Fing Thiesman.

  82. Wow, listen to that radio interview. This guy is the biggest homo on the planet. Just wait until Ndamukong splits this arrogant fools sternum in half, shatters his knees and cleats him in the throat.
Remember Aaron, this is the team of the decade your talking about.

  83. Jaws kinda does suck. He always seems to be wrong and make his co-announcers awkward by having to correct him without it seeming like they’re correcting him. I always end up feeling embarrassed for him.

  84. Is it possible that Aaron Rodgers has become even COOLER to me now?
I hate Jaworski with a passion.

  85. Why do people think Kornhesier is good? Because he sits next to the worst analyst in sports history, Michael (if I am / want to be pals with you I think you are awesome) Wilbon.
Wilbon didn’t even know who Chris Pronger was, and only started talking up the Blackhawks after they went up 2 games.
He also wrote an article where he claimed he won’t write about Donovan McNabb because he “likes him” and can’t be objective. In other words, he can’t do his job.
He wants to be their friends.

  86. so much for Rodgers brave stocism…
While I agree TK was a poor fit on MNF, and yes his Farve obssesion was scary, I’m a daily listener to his brillant podcast and I love think he’s great on PTI! Jaws is also one of the best in the biz.
At the end of the day you can’t blame Rodgers for holding a grudge, it’s still a shame he has to vent in the typical childish, prima-Donna fashion which is so common among the super-indulged world of the pro athelete.

    ———————
That cannot be a serious statement. Can it?
Are you Tony Kornheiser or are you just batsh!t crazy?

  88. I picked this up on the radio on my way up from Milwaukee. It was a very fun and light hearted show with Rodgers joking almost all of the time. It doesn’t transfer well into writing. The Kornheiser remarks were meant to be funny.

  89. 2008? Why did it take so long to make this public? In any event Aaron Rogers now has my respect because he is someone who had the ballz to say it and not be worried about being PC.

  90. as a die hard bears fan I hate rodgers but love the fact he stood up for himself.now let’s just hope he has the balls to stick with it and not say he was misqoted or taken out of context. I have always wondered why it was ok for anyone in the media to say whatever they wanted about an athelete but if they responded in any way it was wrong.

  91. Fan of Football is Gabriel Cojocarescu. Google it and check out their family blogspot. This guy is the biggest f’in piece of crap I have ever laid eyes on.

  92. Maybe Rodgers needs his own ustream channel. I would watch and listen!

  93. It’s worth noting that one of the reasons Rodgers slid in the ’05 draft is that he didn’t come off particularly well in pre-draft interviews. He hasn’t mastered the fake humility that coaches are looking for.

  94. This is so funny, since I think the media has gone out of its way to protect Rodgers. Everyone in GB knows about Rodgers and his partner, who also works for the Pack. For him to attack the media like this is so strange. The media has also covered up his close ties with Thompson, who dumped on Favre from the day Rodgers was drafted. I am actually a strong supporter of gay rights, so I was disappointed that the Pack organization put a muzzle on Rodgers. He tried to come out in his first season as a starter and was told to be quiet. Anyone reading the GB blogs can see otherwise.

  95. maybe aaron should focus on trimming down the int’s and not about calling out everyone under the sun
He better be RJK. After all……he did throw a whopping 7.

  96. anybody that watches pti is a dumb ass. micheal wilblow isnt any better with his front running. no one is more prepared than jaws and usually he’s dead on. (example) about washington’s savior lol donny mcnabb lol

  97. Aaron Rodgers is garbage. How many playoff wins? ZERO.
Oh, but he’s only been starting for 2 years. Joe Flacco has 2 years as well along with 3 playoff wins.
He’s acting like any sports talk guys know anything about whats happening. Its sports, anything can happen. Its not their fault we all want 24×7 blabber. They are just meeting our demand.
If Kornheiser sucks so much, why do so many people watch PTI and listen to his radio show?

  98. looks like Rodgers is enjoying his fantasy football stardom. Jared Allen will brig him down to earth. literally.

  99. I believe Rodgers has the ability to become an excellent qb but until he actually accomplishes something of note, I think he would be best served to not burn his bridges. As of now Rodgers is still only a “stats qb” and can best be compared to a Archie Manning, NOT an Eli or Peyton who have won division titles, playoff games and SB’s. On a side note, it is hilarious how the packer fans are willing to elevate him to an even higher status becuz he “told off a comedian”, guess it doesn’t take a whole lot to impress some people.

  100. I know the guy that owns this particular espn affiliate (cough, douche bag, cough) and he must do back flips when the website gets linked to here for Packers related stuff. The queens fans have soo much hate they just can’t help themselves.

  101. He took a shot at the DETROIT LIONS? Talk about kicking someone when they are down.

  102. I enjoy PTI, but only because Kornhole and Wilbon are entertainers, not sports experts. They like to spew instead of do serious journalist work. That’s OK for a sports talk show. That kind of approach doesn’t work for me on a real live football telecast. There is too much sensationalism from Tony. Seriously, can someone be the greatest player in the game on every defferent MNF broadcast?

  103. Haha, nice. Finally a player who is willing to put these announcers in their place. Aaron Rodgers is a Berkeley grad too, so I don’t think they want to get into it with him. . .

  104. I’m surprised he is biting the hand that feeds him with constant praise but I can’t disagree with him or the way he said it. Lets see how ESPN runs with this.

  105. Wo! Mister Rodgers wearing one of Ruthlessbugger’s Satan shirts underneath that cardigan.
It’s like poking the little old guy snoozing on the park bench and having him jump up and kick your ass.

  106. I only liked Aaron Rodgers on my fantasy team. Now that he has called out the obvious incompetence of “analysts” on ESPN, I have respect for the guy. ESPN has way too many ignorant opinionated fools who know nothing about sports and just say dumb things.
I stopped watching Around the Horn and PTI a long time ago. It loses its enrtainment value when blatantly dumb things are continuously said. ESPN filler shows are really out of control.
Sure it’s arrogant what Rodgers said, but at the same time you have to appreciate when these jacka$$es get called out.

  107. I had prepared some other comment, but did not realize that Rodgers was joking. I thought that his comments sounded strange since I think the media has been very protective of him. If you read the GB blogs, you can read about Rodgers and his partner, who also works for the Pack. I think that if Rodgers comes out, so will Ted Thompson, the GM.

  108. In an unrelated “world affairs” story, the United Nations has formally asked the staff of PFT to try their hand in resuming peace talks in the middle east.
Previously deemed impossible, they have united Viking and Packer fans, hand in hand, to agree whole-heartedly on an issue.
Mr. Rodgers spot-on assesment of KornHole’s almost unbearable stint on MNF.
Now if we could get those dumb-ass Sconies to realize that they root for a terrible team in a terrible town, in a terrible stadium, with terrible uniforms…….

  109. “He did absolutely no research. We’d sit in those production meetings and he would add absolutely nothing to the conversation,” Said Rodgers.
Exact same thing could be said of Rich Eisen at NFL Network. No knowledge but a desire to be involved in the conversation leads to him hijacking the conversation with non football talk.
NFL Network please fire Rich Eisen and stick with people who take football seriously.

    ————————————————
the interview is posted right in the article, which i listened to. i dont see how they were in anyway supposed to be funny.

  111. Thank You Aaron! I have been holding off on bashing you til I had a reason.
First off, I can agree on Tony. But that’s the character he was told to play. He might’ve not been the best choice for MNF, but why does he need to be serious with you? He was around the game long before you.
Second, why bash Jaws? Makes no sense.
Onto you. You took a team that went 13-3 one season and went 6-10 the next. The only main change was YOU! Sure you made the playoffs in 2009, but really? Should anyone respect that? The only difference between you and T-Jax (who I like) is that you are way over-hyped. I used to kinda root for you because I thought you were a nice guy. Not anymore. You are just a punk.

  112. Super:
Do I need to start calling you gay?
Please quit stalking me on these threads.
That rant had nothing to do with what i posted.
It’s just your typical” have you ever played the game bs.”
By the way, he sat for how many years before he started?
You don’t think they were correcting flaws during that time?
    Get a grip!!!!
PS. I heard Teddy Teabag and GayRod are dating!

  113. Man I LOVE Aaron Rodgers. It’s great to have a confident, intelligent QB who speaks his mind instead of the needy good ol’ boy “aw shucks” clown.

  114. Aaron Rogers must learn to keep his mouth shut and play football. He can go on the E channel and talk about all the movie stars etc—-NOT!!!!
Gotta give him one saving grace….his take on Kornholer is spot on.
    Anyways—meanwhile back at the ranch……

  115. Seriously, this is news?
Rodgers just said what everyone already knew.
Headline: Florio wants everyone to know that Rodgers knows something we’ve all known for years.

    *************
You’d have better luck explaining that to a wall than you would a jealous, brain-dead ViQueens fan. They have lived in the shadow of the Packers franchise for their entire existance and it seems to have had quite a detrimental effect on thier logic, reasoning and collective IQ.

  117. Rodgers seems like an ass, a childish ass.
This guy has some thin skin. Toughen-up, Rodgers. Is this guy still sore about being embarrassed during the Draft?

  118. Yeah, RJK, Aaron Rodgers really needs to trim down those INTs. Seven in one season is horrendous. Just pathetic.

  119. “The whole interview, in which Rodgers criticized other ESPN employees and took a shot at the Detroit Lions, is well worth listening to.” Didn’t have time to listen to interview what kind of shot did he take at the lions????

  120. You know what else isn’t funny? Coughing up the ball near your own endzone in a playoff game.
    Just saying …

  121. @EG Thank you! I agree! But to answer to your question, people watch it because Kornheiser and Wilbon look like average joes
They’re balding, don’t wear fancy clothes, or look rich. So the typical sports fan relates to them and believes everything they say because appearance matters, not knowledge.

  122. Look at this homer: “Looks like everyone was wrong about Rodgers and his fundamentals. Pro Bowl starter in his second year playing. Super Bowl champion in his third or fourth year playing.”
Pro Bowl starter only because something like 3 QBs ahead of him dropped out, including Favre. So far Flacco has had a lot better career and last season was truly his 2nd season in the leagues. He didn’t get a three year head start like Rodgers got. I’m pretty sure your last statement hasn’t happened yet, nor is it guaranteed to. So you might want to phrase it so it does not come off as past tense; phrase it like the homerish opinion that it is.

  123. Ok, I get it, Rodgers was joking and when transfered to the printed page, he comes off looking like a malcontent.
However, Kornholer is a compete Favre butt boy, I swear he must have sucked him off sometime in his life time (sorry Chilly, other people own knee pads too)
No wonder the Viking fans out out in force, they are as blind to Favre’s shortcomings as Kornholer.

  124. @bucc19,
You might want to check your facts. Favre wasn’t married when he went out to Wisconsin bars. Him and Dianna weren’t even going out and seeing other people. Sorry to burst your Favre hatin bubble, but POP! Your wrong statement about Favre invalidates the rest of your diatribe. Thanks

  125. FOF, your version of history is very convoluted and very, very wrong. But it is entertaining. Yes, Favre did absolutely nothing wrong with that INT. And Rodgers did not get face-masked. I don’t want to break your little bubble, but if you do a google image search for ‘Aaron Rodgers facemask’ the proof is right there over and over and over again.
But hey, your FOF. The Fan of Football? No, that can’t be right. Since you obviously know nothing about it. Let’s say Fan of Favre. No, that’s not right either. It’s much more than that.
Fan of Polishing Favre’s Knob. FPFK. Much better name for you. Please change it.

  126. nicely said…i remem in 2006 when the chad pennington led jets were driving on and winning against the miami dolphins on a rainy christmas in miami.
all kornheiser did was lampoon pennington and his arm strength..even saying his ‘dog’ could throw further…meanwhile, if he were paying attention to the game, he’d see the jets come away as victors…foolish man..rodgers is dead on, i got sick of him real quick.

  127. I listened to it live. It was during a break at a charity golf outing on ESPN Milwaukee 540. The hosts Homer and Mitch have known Aaron for years and there was a lot of needling and banter – they love to give each other the business so this part of their conversation was an offshoot of that banter.
I do like Rodger’s honesty – you may not like what he said, but he is a straight shooter – very different from his predecessor who is still one of my all time favorties even though he plays for a rival.
    Much ado about nothing.

  128. FINALLY, someone calls out idiot Kornheiser!!! It’s obvious Tony doesn’t read more than the headlines before forming his “expert” opinions. Laziest guy in the business. Rodgers is right. Lousy as Miller was, Kornheiser’s the only MNF “analyst” who’s made me mute the sound.
    Go, Aaron!!!!!!! Who-hoooo!!!!!!!

  129. Yo that’s how we do in Chico. That’s my boy!!! Go Aaron. TK and all MNF voices suck. ESPN tries to pull in Fairweather fans who don’t know ish. Why were tk and miller on? And how hard does trico suck the powers at ESPN to get all the gigs he does??? They want to get rid of NFL matchup due to low raitings. How about a better time slot????

  130. Best trade in the history of the NFL or any other sport. Kornheiser for John Gruden! It was like watching a football game with a senile uncle in the room that won’t stop talking about nonsense or making jokes that were hysterical in 1937.

  131. I’ll never forget Konhole whining about having to go to Jax to watch a Superbowl. Poor Baby! He really is uninformed and useless. The only thing my boss and I argue about is who is worse: Kornhole or Wilbon

  132. No doubt ESPN sucks..The only one i relly care for now is Michelle Beadle–and now i find out she likes the Darkies…

  133. Kornhole was bad of course. But to me, Arron Rodgers comes off like an arrogant a$$hole. Sounds to me that he is more focused on making sure his image is in the best light than on his “fundamentals”! He has some talent but he will not lead the Packers anywhere near the superbowl anytime soon.

  134. For all of you moronic idiots that have not actually listened to the interview he’s almost being forced to say thingsand its done with laughter. Being critical of Kornheiser while praising others. Rodgers makes good points. Its not a personal attack like the headline of this article dictates. Nice one michael David Smith. You are one “terrible, stupid and dumb” reporter. You know thats not what he said.

  135. I can’t stand the Packers or Rodgers, but if you actually watch football and you don’t think he had a tremendous year in spite of an AWFUL line last year and played like a 10 year vet in his first playoff appearance, you shouldn’t be allowed to watch football ever again. 30TDs to 7int’s with the worst line in the game! LOL! Yeah, he stinks!

  136. Fan of Farvsballs and vagina4farve need to get together for some male bonding. Being clearly obsessed with Brett, you could support each other in finding the courage to stop the self loathing and come out of the closet. Or you could come up with a plan to kidnap Brett and make him your loveslave.
Either way. Just do something with your pathetic selves. You are both an embarassment to manhood.
    —————————————
“Get back to me when he wins 4 whole playoff games in a span of 13 years and THEN we’ll talk about being a great quarterback.”
    Nice work, Ruvell. LMFAO!!!

  137. I am surprised that some bloggers here also forgot that Favre had only 7 INTs too last season. He had none in the two games the Vikes played against the Pack. I am only stating their records. They both had good years, but Favre’s was better and he was 40! I think Rodgers is going to have a great career. I am only disappointed that the miserable GB fans who dump on Favre could not at least wait until Rodgers wins one playoff game before they install him in the HOF. Rodgers clearly should have been drafted first by SF. He is highly intelligent and likes to go to film festivals, while Favre likes to hunt with a bow and arrow.

  138. Hey FOF,
Favre and Deanna were married when Favre was banging local GB tail in the bathrooms of local bars…try again. I saw him, Winters and Chumura many times take ladies out back to “converse” with them. Apparently you don’t remember the 50 times Deanna was quoted as stating “she was leaving Brett unless he wised up.” Low and behold, a $100 million contract came along, and she was happy.
FOF, you are the same Favre lover who puts his idol next to god, proclaims everything was everyone else’s fault, and bows at the mere mention of the gunslingers name. Get a clue moron.

  139. To date, I thought we all admired Rodgers for his “quiet humility/dignity/stoicism/leadership/whatever in the midst of the big dramatic Favre sh1tstorm”?
(the first of the 947365398756 Bratt Favre-dramas, anyway)
Well, even “joking”, so much for that…
Wait, didn’t he tell Packers fans that weren’t “on board” with him that they could “go to hell” or something like that?
It’ll be funny to see how Rodgers’ future plays out, when he’s 40 years old and starting for the HypeQueens.
I’m curious to know what he said about the Lions, too.
By the way, Kornhole is lousy, Miller is brilliant…for anyone with at least a triple-digit IQ (albeit maybe not a great fit for the MNF format), and MOST television broadcast teams beg for the mute-button-local-radio-affiliate-coverage combo instead. Yammering jackasses.
    Anyway, like I said:
Aarn Rodgers–Miniscrotum BiQueens starting QB, 2022.
I wonder if Childo will be giving out free purple helmet polishings to him, too?

  140. Part of what makes Tony relevant is his ability to be divisive.
And, hate him or love him, no denying he has his entertaining moments.

  141. I hate that Rogers is a Packer, because I really freakin’ like the guy.

  142. Rodgers says what everyone knows and MNF is no longer the highest rated football game of the week.
Korn-hoser is your typical wimpy East Coast urban indoor unaccomplished
Sunday Night on NBC gets 25-35% more audience.
Remember the 80’s when ESPN always had athletic competition on 24 hours a day? Sumo wrestling, Austrailian Rules Football, polo.
Now it is crappy talk shows.
Since Disney bought ESPN the channel is unwatchable.
Seriously, how many people over the age of 10 watch ESPN anymore?

  144. “Get back to me when he wins 4 whole playoff games in a span of 13 years and THEN we’ll talk about being a great quarterback.”
OR….”Get back to me when he throws a game/season ending pick in three consecutive years (with three different teams)…soon to be four.”
Priceless comment…best I have ever seen.

  145. Some of you posters are straight up lame! How are you fools gonna call Rodgers arrogant but ignore some of the more arrogant quarterbacks that lead your teams?
Guys like Manning, Roethlisberger, Brady, Romo, Rivers, and Cutler. To name just a few.
You ass clowns need to get off your high horse and get over yourselves already.

  146. FoF says: actually, the example doesn’t get much better then with AR, double OT choke. Unless you want to include your buy Manning choking I’m the SB with that careless INT. Favre’s int was the same as an incompletion since a fg from that distance was very unlikely.
@ FoF: Many believed Favre could have, at the very least, picked up a few yards scrambling and given the Vikings a shot at a field goal of 50 yards or less. Instead, he throws wildly across the field and gets picked off. Don’t get me wrong, I like Favre, but the guy makes more bone-headed plays than any other QB considered to be “elite” by the media.
Maybe you think Rodgers play was just as bad, but I would almost always consider an interception to be more of a “choke” than a fumble. Unlike a fumble, an interception is almost always the result of poor decision making on the part of the quarterback….which for Favre almost always seems to be at a key moment in big games.

  147. I love Dennis Miller (not literally, you gaymos). He is hilarious, but too many uneducated fans don’t understand his humor. The “get me another beer” retarded crowd just scratched their empty noggins and ABC had to dispatch him…

  148. There are too many comments to sort through, so someone might have already touched on this but I think this story was written very irresponsibly. It makes it sound like Aaron sat there and just ranted on Tony. He said some honest things about his dealing with him in response to prodding from the interviewers. He never once called him stupid, he said “this is stupid.”

  149. J Dub: “Favre and Deanna were married when Favre was banging local GB tail in the bathrooms of local bars…try again”
Negative. I’m going to call bullpoppy on that one. By the time they got Married Favre was already on the way to his first Superbowl and the most recognizable sports figure in the state. He couldn’t step into a bar without getting mobbed much less do the slanderous things you claim. I saw him out too with the boys, but that was in 93, 94. Not in late 96 or 97 after they were married.
Sorry, but your lies won’t fly here.

  150. FOF and minion of Favre lovers don’t want to hear anything bad. After all thier motto is “Everything good = Favre, Everything Bad = everyone else.”
That pick wasn’t favre’s fault…it was the refs fault for not calling more penalties, the receivers fault for not running the proper route, the coaches fault for having to many men in the huddle, the games fault for being to short, the statistics fault because the Vikings outgained the Saints, Petersons fault for fumbling, and Ted Thompson’s fault for…well they don’t know….it was just Ted’s fault.

I disagree, at no point ever watching TK have I been entertained. I would go so far as to say that Florio has a higher football knowledge than that no talent ass clown

  152. I’d say Rodgers had the better year than Favre, numbers wise. More TD’s , more yards, equal picks. They both played well, but one has a lot more left than the other.

  153. He’s right about Kornhole, he does suck and brings down any sports forum he represents. I’m not much of a Jaworski fan either, but Rodgers’ only reason to not like him is because he criticized him? That’s quite primadonna-ish, sounds just like Phil Simms attacking other commentators for criticizing his son’s (lack of) abilities. These guys are paid to state the positives AND negatives of players, especially pre draft. Sounds like he needs to toughen up a bit.

  154. Theisman was without a doubt the worst ever. He should be banned from ever coming near a microphone. All he can do is talk about himself and he never was that great to begin with.
As bad as Kornhole was (which was terrible) he was still better than Theisman. Helen Keller would have been better than either of those clowns.

Call the guy an arrogant a-hole or whatever is fine..but don’t go out and make up stories about people you’ve never met, never known, and probaly never will. There are laws for slander, and if I were you . I’d be pretty careful about the crap you and FOF keep posting on here. Most of these guys make more in a day than you’ll make in your burger frying technian lifetime and don’t think they wouldn’t spend the money to teach some undereducated sloths like you a lesson.

  158. The only thing worse than Jaworski (and his constant full use of the words National Football League instead of simply saying “NFL”) is his steakhouse inside a piece of crap Holiday Inn in Philly… that thing should be condemned. I got a better steak at a Old Country Buffet.

  159. I listened for the Lions rip, and he doesn’t actually rip on the Lions. The conversation was about LeBron James, and where he should play. Rodgers suggested the Clippers, and the two hosts were saying “it’s the Clippers, you can’t get away from being a losing team,” etc.
He suggested they could move past their history, “Change the uniforms, the logo,” Rodgers said.
“Yeah, like that worked for the Lions,” one of the hosts said. Laughs all around, but Rodgers didn’t rip on them..

  160. What Rodgers said…
I have only seen that kornheiser guy on the football telecasts, and there were no moments. He never added anything and seemed to always be trying to feed lines to the Jawalski, who I dont like but at least I recognize is a professional broadcaster who does try to bring things to the broadcast. He should just exclude himself from any eagles games or any games with ex eagles players playing. Cause he sucks it up bad when his team is involved.

  161. The shot at the lions was right at the end. He was saying that LeBron should sign with the Clippers and set up a LeBron Kobe rivalry in LA.
The hosts say that the Clippers are a losing organization and you can’t change it. Rodgers says something like “you can change it with new uniforms, new logo, it worked for the Lions.”

  162. Another loudmouth loser QB who has won zip, ever! Shut up punk and stop your teammates from raping women…

  163. kornhole blows, miller was almost as bad, rodgers has talent and doesnt throw a lot of picks.
jaws does have blind spots. that happens when one wears ladies’ glasses.

  164. FoF thinks Rodgers singlehandedly choked away the Wild Card game last year by fumbling (with just a bit of a facemask in there) in OT.
Coincidentally, I once had a little banter with FoF in which he claims (I swear to God!) that Favre’s 6 INT masterpiece against the Rams was the RECEIVERS fault! “They ran the wrong routes!” “How many of those picks were off of their hands!” “Brett can’t win by himself!”
In FoF’s honest opinion, Brett Favre’s 6 interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns, had nothing to do with the Packers 42-17 loss at St. Louis in the 02 playoffs. Gives you an idea of the mental and testicular fortitude of this guy.

  165. Well, it was ESPN. ESPN is a joke. Soon, when something awful is happening or something with no validity happens, people will say “How very ESPN of them”

  166. FOF..YOU RE WRONG again..Favre was married in 1996..and listen to you..Deanna..yes, like she’d be cavorting with your type. I never said I hated Favre. And Mrs Favre is one of the nicest people , YES, that I’ve MET..yes FOF I really KNOW her. Not a fantasy like you. She was LIVING with him while he was in Green Bay..the WHOLE time. I don’t hate Favre…as a REAL fan of football..I hate the way he orchestrated his own form of free agency and the playing the victim thing to Fox and ESPN is nauseating. I hate it when ANY player (montana, marcus allen, randy moss) who was an icon for one team , goes and plays for another..it happens..but the way Farce did it was utterly nauseating..the whole crying and lying thing, calling Greta, calling the Lions..I’am still waiting to hear the Packers side of events, which we probably will never hear because they, like Rodgers , in this whole f-d up mess have taken the high road. Sharon can’t kick feild goals and has no right to grade the announcers. He better be concerned with leading a team in a big game. Rodgers sucks!
    ————–
Obviously a worried Vikings fan knowing that he’ll be around to torment the Vikings for the next decade??
To say he sucks is ridiculous considering he was more productive last year than your boy Favre and his supposed best season ever.
    .
You mean a big game that he had a QB rating of 121.4, threw for 424 yards, 4 TD’s and only 1 INT?? Yeah, they lost because of him. Favre hasn’t ever done that in an NFL playoff game, unless you want to swap TD’s for INT’s.

  168. NFL Network please fire Rich Eisen and stick with people who take football seriously.
    AMEN!

  169. Sorry, but your lies won’t fly here
Sorry “fan” but neither do yours..just the FACTS ma’am.

  170. I can picture it now…
A demented 88 year old FoF and his equally loony, live in boyfriend Va4Favre are sitting on the front porch enjoying their coffee. Va says, “Well, Gabe, I’m gonna mow the lawn.” So he heads in and grabs the coffee maker and starts pushing it around the yard. FoF gets up to get himself a refill and can’t find the coffee maker.
He yells out the window, “Va, that goddamn Thompson stole our coffee maker again!”

  173. “I’d say Rodgers had the better year than Favre, numbers wise. More TD’s , more yards, equal picks”
Negative. AR had fewer TDs and more interceptions then Favre last year.

  174. Rogers come off as bitter towards Jaws because he criticized him on TV.
Korn sucked on MNF but is good on PTA. Rogers just comes across as generally not liking him at all.

  175. “Negative. AR had fewer TDs and more interceptions then Favre last year”
They both had 7 picks, Favre had 33 TDs, Rodgers had 35 ( 30 passing, 5 rushing).

  176. FOF spews the same garbage here as he does on every other Packers/Favre forum.
Favre was married in 1996, after living with Deanna for the first 4 years of his career in GB. He and Tiger Woods have something in common…most likely, Favre has more skeletons in his closet that Tiger does. He was never ratted out because of the blind adolation of MOST of the moronic Packer fans who live in GB….like you, constantly making exceptions and excuses for him. He is far from the godlike angel you and so many other morons make him out to be.
BTW, Rodgers was spot on in his assessment of Kornholer…..next to FOF, Kornhole is the biggest Favre kneeler on the planet.

That post is amazing, even from FoF.
Ever hear of a false choice? Why do I have to choose between those two options? Could he have gained a few yards just running it? Possibly found another person to throw to?
Even assuming your statement is accurate, is there any Vikings fan that would choose an INT over a FG attempt from 56 yards to go to the Super Bowl? Ask Longwell if he thought the INT was the same as an incompletion.
“No thanks, I would rather just have a pick here because a FG attempt will probably get blocked and returned for a score anyway.”

  180. “Negative. AR had fewer TDs and more interceptions then Favre last year.”
They each had 7 INTs last year, how does that equal more than Favre in FoF-world?
And AR did have more TDs than Favre. 30 Pass + 5 Rush = 35 TDs. (Favre 33 Pass + 0 Rush = 33 TDs)
But fear not, FoF, Favre bested AR in the “looking like a little kid out there” category.

  181. Bucc19, If you read the GB blogs, you will find nothing that I said is untrue. My friends live in GB, do you? I would be careful what you say is slander. EVERY time I watched and listened to him on MNF, I used to say that he sounds like he’s never seen a football game before. All of his commentary and “analysis” ended in a request for affirmation (e.g., “Teams are trying to get the ball across the goal line, right, Jaws?”
Sooooo glad he’s off the air.

As you can clearly see the facemask occurred after Rodgers carelessly fumbled the ball. As a matter of fact, the laws of physics demand it since the same hand that was placed on the facemask was the hand which knocked the ball free.
Rodgers needs to learn to take care of the ball, not hold it for so long on a third and short, and read those masked outside blitzes. There is a reason Favre has never been sacked as many times as Rodgers had last season despite playing behind way worse O’Lines, because he can read the blitz and get rid of it. Thanks!

  192. Sounds like Rodgers needs to take a tissue out of his purse and use it. Learn to take a little criticism ‘ol buddy. And how ’bout winning a couple of games against quality opponents. You’re pretty good at beating up the lightweights of the league(lions, rams, browns), but what about the vikes, steelers, cardinals? If you get your game going as well as your mouth, you might have a damn good career.

  193. “But fear not, FoF, Favre bested AR in the “looking like a little kid out there” category.”
..and TD passes, and wins, and going deeper in the playoffs. All without the benefit of being in a pass first offense with one of the best WR corps in the league that you have been playing and practicing with for 4 years.

  194. BuckBadger – Favre had quality teams throughout his stay in Green Bay – his Vikings teams wasn’t that much better than the Packers – one can’t ignore the record last year but one can’t also ignore that Favre – and no one else – cost them in the playoffs.

  195. “Football is a team game. Favre played on a much better team. You think Favre would have lasted playing behind the same offensive line as Rodgers did?”
Really? Because when Favre left the Packers after the 2007 season, the PAckers were the much better team. Are you now saying that the Vikings catapulted past the Packers and have a much better team? Doesn’t speak well of Ted Thompson. As a matter of fact, he must be doing a horrid job letting division rivals past him.
btw, Favre has played behind much worse O’Lines in his career, including 2005, 2006, and 2007. The reason he didn’t rack up the sacks like Erin is that Favre doesn’t hold onto the ball every play looking for that stat padding throw like Erin does.

  196. “I hate it when ANY player (montana, marcus allen, randy moss) who was an icon for one team , goes and plays for another..it happens..but the way Farce did it was utterly nauseating..the whole crying and lying thing, calling Greta, calling the Lions..

Ted Thompson has done a good job reigning him in the first couple years, but it looks like Erin’s emerging Diva attitude might be getting a little out of control.

  198. All without the benefit of being in a pass first offense with one of the best WR corps in the league that you have been playing and practicing with for 4 years.

Please. I’m not part of the “get me another beer” crowd, and was a fan of Miller’s comedy before his senility took over. His humor wasn’t over my head, and I’m sure many of the other advanced life forms in the audience were able to keep up, too. Get over yourself. But MNF is not a stand-up forum or talk show. It’s a football game and his job was to provide color commentary, not biting satire. HE wasn’t smart enough to adapt to the assignment, so he got the ax–and rightly so.
    @Carly Syms …
My brother’s a longtime Kornheiser fan, too, but maybe he’s gotten slack since becoming successful. Rodgers is right–he doesn’t do the prep. It’s entertaining when commentators take divisive positions, but they should argue from a knowledge base. It’s irritating when he posits supposedly provocative questions and the answers have already been covered. Hello, Tony? Watch your own network? It’s sloppy.
Jim Rome is another one … “burns” without bothering to fact-check. Too many good reporters are looking for jobs to let these guys skate.

  200. This is amazing. Scrolling through 210 comments on a story about Rodgers criticizing Kornheiser, the name of Favre appears probably more often than both of them combined.

  201. “maybe aaron should focus on trimming down the int’s and not about calling out everyone under the sun”
Last time I checked Rodgers only had seven interceptions all last season.

  202. I hate espn. so i agree with Rogers. But Rogers does come off as kind of a prick. and bitter. I’ve always said he is the cockiest player you haven’t heard get any attention. and mike mccarthy is the most arrogant coach in the league you don’t hear about. but i still like both of them, even as a vikings fan.
but let the draft thing go. if you were drafted higher, you’d be like alex smith…LOST. put on a shitty team. you were lucky to be drafted by the packers, to learn from Favre. that led to your big pay day. i’m sure jaws’ would admit he was wrong about you on draft day. he is actually a pretty reliable analyst on that network.
    oh sorry, roDgers.

  203. Fact: I went to Green Bay Notre Dame Academy in Grenn Bay, WI and graduated in 2002
Fact: Favre used to come to my grade school (where Britney went as well, she was on my bus line) and throw the football with us kids during our recess (pre-SuperBowl Favre)
Fact: Favre slept with just about every 7 out of 10 or better looking women in the Fox Valley area including my best friend’s mom Julie during the entire 2003 season. How do I know? Because he would show up at her house after 10 pm and stay for about an hour telling Julie that he was supposed to be watching film at Lambeau.
Does this change you opinion of Brett Favre? Probably not. But GBs is a tight knit community and gossip, specifically Packer gossip is spread around the 600,000 people that live in the area in a matter of minutes.
Yes, Favre had his best season ever as a Vike but he owes the entire Brow County area a big thank you for never ratting him out for being the Tiger Woods of the North Woods….he was that bad, even after he was married.

It’s no secret that Dennis Miller was a complete bust on MNF. That’s what happens when you have to start writing your own material. He flopped so bad it was a career killer. His negative Q numbers among the football audinence carried over to the larger demographic, and he’s been trying ever since to suck up to the folks in flyover country that were so put off by the elitism he showed on MNF. Meanwhile, many of his SNL contemporaries have gone on to sucessful movie careers.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer jerkoff.
    Phoney.

  206. Finally I hear a Viking fan make sense. Thank you all caps for not bashing the packers and saying stupid shit. I sort of agree with you as well. I still thinks it’s funny due to the fact that he has been so quiet through the six plus years he’s been in the league.

  207. As to calling Tony Kornholer an idiot, I would think it would be more interesting to find somebody in the NFL or the public at large that
thinks Tony is a genius. It’s a little late calling out a low rent capitol D-bag like balogna pony Tony, when the guy was fired a year ago. That bieng said I have to say the kid was spot on in his assessment.
As to the comments about Jaws, I think the kid is still bitter about the draft day slide. Appearently losing several mil. going from top 5 projection down to 24 money still stings.
I do like the fact that the man speaks his mind though. It is refreshing to see someone that doesn’t sling out the same old cliches, and kiss everyones a$$ like the other league poster boys.

  210. Tony is ok on his show. He was TERRIBLE on MNF. I can’t respect a man who spends half the broadcast referring to his fantasy matchups. I rarely watch ESPN anymore. If I want football updates I go to the NFL Network.

  211. Regardless of whether he’s “right” or not about Kornheiser, he’s an NFL quarterback not Howard Stern.
Show some class Rodgers and don’t be singling out members of the media and smashing them so hard. Can you imagine how the Earth would open up and swallow North America if Brett Favre did an interview like this?
Rodgers is pissed at Korn because he usually praises Favre and did so especially in 2008. Rodgers is not some mild mannered handsome young man, he’s a cocky guy who is extremely confident and keeps track of who’s on his side and who isn’t. But Packer fans will be blind to this side and will defend him and all the rapists and thugs in Packer uniforms.

Here is a cute clip of just how close the Minnesota Vikings were to playing for a world title. If it weren’t for one man. The man Packer fans had to bite their tongue about the last 11 years. Now its pure joy to watch him and his team pull off the most amazing chioke job ever witnessed in sports. Enjoy…..

  223. “Football is a team game. Favre played on a much better team. You think Favre would have lasted playing behind the same offensive line as Rodgers did?”

Are you now saying that the Vikings catapulted past the Packers and have a much better team? Doesn’t speak well of Ted Thompson. ———————–
The O-line in those years was not worse than last year. Last year was the worse since Clifton and Tauscer where brought in. Favre never had Moll starting for him and all the other scrubs they went through. The line is in rebuilding mold for the first time in a long time.
The Packers where not a much better team in 07. They had a good run and finished better but they were not MUCH better. The Vikings always had a better core team just needed a QB. This was the reason why Favre wanted to play for them in the first place.
Green Bay is younger and will be the better team if not this year by the year after. They will continue to be the better team for probably 4 to 5 years now which speaks very well of Thompson. In fact it speaks very well of Thomspon since the team has a brighter future than just anyone in the NFC north but anyone in the NFC.

  224. Better focus on not Getting raped by Jared Allen than taking pot shots at some sports writer who is obviously doing something right to be a co-host of MNF, has his own daily show, I believe has or had a radio show and was a ink stained wretch at some point in his career.

    I don’t know, not much I guess…
But please get back to me when Aaron Rodgers has a reason to pantomime a championship belt OF ANY SORT… ON ANY LEVEL!

  226. “like the 2nd or 3rd most playoff appearances in the history of the NFL…”
Um, no, you’re not like the 2nd or 3rd most. You do, however, hold the record for the most losses at 25. And if you’re using playoff appearances as your criteria for “what have you won” then Rodgers fits even your own criteria doesn’t he?!?!

  227. Mike Tirico is the only person with a brain in the booth on MNF. Jaworski just peddles his football politics most of the time and Kornheiser provides nothing. No football insight, knowledge or comedic relief.
It amazes me that BSPN is able to have legitimate talent like Tirico, Schefter or (sorry Florio) Bill Simmons in the building.
