LenDale’s uncle: “Someone’s not being honest”

Free agent running back LenDale White has been quiet since the Seahawks cut him last month. But his uncle, Herman White, has become something of a spokesman for LenDale, and he says he thinks the whole truth hasn’t been told about why LenDale is no longer in Seattle.

“All I know is what he’s reported to me, that things were going good, that he was happy,” Herman White said of what LenDale told him. “Either he’s not being honest, or someone’s not being honest.”

Of course, it’s also entirely possible that LenDale is being honest when he says he thought everything was going well in Seattle, but that LenDale just doesn’t realize that in reality, he wasn’t working hard enough.

Herman White also said LenDale missed voluntary activities when he had a death in the family and when he was dealing with damage to his home from flooding in Nashville, but he doesn’t think that should be held against his nephew.

“He missed some, but those were voluntary,” Herman White said. “If those are being held against him, they should have to take that up with the league.”

Herman says LenDale is working out and hoping to catch on with another team. If Herman wants to see a team take a chance on his nephew, it would probably be wise not to make any more public comments.
