Charles Woodson says he hasn’t asked for a new contract

On Tuesday, Josina Anderson of FOX 31 in Denver seemed to report that the Packers and cornerback Charles Woodson are negotiating a new contract.

Woodson has responded.

The 2009 NFL defensive player of the year told ESPNMilwaukee.com via text, “I don’t know any Josina, and I haven’t discussed anything with the Packers.”

Woodson, 34, has three year left on his current deal. Per ESPNMilwaukee.com, he’s due to earn $7.5 million in 2010. His base salary for 2011 moves to $5.5 million. The following season, he completes his commitment with $6.5 million in base pay.

It’s unknown whether Woodson would like to discuss anything with the Packers. Or, for that matter, get to know any Josina.
