Chargers said “no thanks” to Vincent Jackson trade inquiry

So with the talk of the Seahawks possibly being interested in Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson, would the Chargers move him?

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports via Twitter that, in response to a call from at least one team regarding Jackson, the Chargers said, “No thanks.”

Acee doesn’t mention whether the “no thanks” came in response to a specific offer, or in response to the general possibility of trading Jackson.

If the Chargers are willing to squeeze Jackson by reducing his tender offer and then telling the media that Jackson and left tackle Marcus McNeill have been “lost,” they should be willing to trade either or both of them.

But not in G.M. A.J. Smith’s world. In his world, common sense and fairness go out the window when it’s time to teach someone a lesson -- especially if the lesson is coming not from the Chargers but the league and if it’s intended not for just these two players but all of them.
