Club owner says Quanis Phillips wasn't kicked out of the party

One of the theories making the rounds regarding the events culminating in the shooting of former Bad Newz Kennels co-owner Quanis Phillips suggests that Phillips tried to gain access to the party, that he was turned away, and that a brouhaha ensued.

This theory, if accurate, would tend to dispel the notion that Eagles quarterback Mike Vick was “associating” with a convicted felon at his 30th birthday party.  Instead, these facts would suggest that Phillips tried unsuccessfully to “associate” with Vick.

One of the owners of the restaurant/nightclub where the party occurred appeared on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philly to talk about the situation.  And Allen Fabijan explained that there were no incidents at the club that evening, and that Phillips was not escorted out of the establishment.

“We don’t have any reflection of that on video,” Fabijan said, pointing out later that 16 surveillance cameras have been installed on the premises.

Fabijan also reiterated that shots rang out at 2:09 a.m. ET, only two minutes after Vick’s vehicle pulled away from the club.  The shots came from the same direction in which Vick’s vehicle was headed.

  1. I thought there was video of Quanis Phillips pushing cake into the face of Vick’s fiancee/GF/wife/mistress/whatever…
Apparently, that action precipitated the ‘beef.’
Cake can be cleaned off with a napkin; bullet holes can’t.
Make bullets $100 each, then maybe turds wouldn’t fire them as much/the 2nd amendment isn’t violated.

  2. Man this is getting worse and worse for Vick. I expect a lifetime ban after the league looks further into this. Almost sounds like whoever Vick was riding with did the shooting. Unless it was Vick himself but I dunno. Bye Vick! lol

TO ALL VICK DEFENDERS: PLEASE HELP!!
I’m trying to become the blond blue eyed “racist whitey” devil that you claim I am. I really am trying. I want to hate Vick for just being black. I work hard at it every day.
But every time I try, I forget he is black because my mind is fogged with the memory of his lies about gambling and dog fighting to the FBI, the commish, the media and the fans; his airport pot smuggling; flipping off his own fans; the whole “Ron Mexico” incident; the stolen Rolex; the drug test he failed while awaiting his gambling sentencing; the fact that he never did any jail time for the dog fighting; claiming that his 6 year lifestyle of dog fighting was a “mistake”; and, of course, the dogs.
My question to you is, since all of you are so good at it, how do I forget all of those things Vick did?
    Is it denial?
    Is it ignorance?
Is it a little of both?
Or is there something else I’m missing?
    Thanks in advance!

  4. Lock him up, throw away the key. Forget about due process or innocent until proven guilty. He is a loser, period. And the public is better off if he is out of sight/out of mind. I’m tried of hearing about him.

  5. Jon, an argument wouldn’t have shown up as an odd occurance at a night club so don’t play that card. If Vick and QP did indeed have an argument, it is highly likely that it wouldn’t be clear on a camera as any of us who have been to a night club would know.

  6. So now the shots came just “two minutes” after Vick left to club. By Monday, I fully expect to read that Vick drove away five minutes AFTER the shots were fired.

  7. So is someone gonna go for the- “Liar, Liar, pants on fire” defense here or what?

  8. @Hugh – nobody responded the first time you posted that because your post is lame. I’m throwing you a bone with this response.
Word to the wise, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result.

  9. This is not looking good for Vick, but I need to remember that Florio apparently has a vested interest in Vick failing. So i’m taking it with a grain of salt until something official comes out.

  10. Not defending Vick here…

  12. You know, this club owner sure likes to talk alot… And we know what Vick does to snitches. I would get a bullet proof leg pad if I was him.

  13. Oh, who hasn’t shot somebody at their birthday party? It’s just good clean fun.

  14. Heh. I mean, that last paragraph sums it up, really.
“Fabijan also reiterated that shots rang out at 2:09 a.m. ET, only two minutes after Vick’s vehicle pulled away from the club. The shots came from the same direction in which Vick’s vehicle was headed.”
    Boom. Roasted.

  15. @Hugh –
Why would you forget about that? It happened. That’s not the point, so save your whining and get on with your life.
Is your existance so pathetic that you need to dwell on something that Mike Vick (someone not worth anything according to you *eye roll*) did 3-10 years ago?
Supporting Vick and what he’s doing now is worthwhile because he’s been making a difference in the Philly community. Now, if he screwed up again…and maybe he did…then he’ll get whats coming to him. That would be sad though, I hope this turns out well for him.

    ______________
Umm….Vick didn’t serve any time for dogfighting.

  26. Steelerdynasty,
He didn’t receive jail time for the dog fighting. He received a gift wrapped and sugar coated suspended sentence.
Maybe his recent actions will be enjoy for that to resurface and bite him in the rear and send him back to jail.

  27. Vick doesn’t have to be proven guilty of anything to be banned from the NFL again. There just has to be enough “reasonable doubt” as to his innocence to put him out of work. The issue really isn’t even whether Vick was involved in the shooting, but whether he’s violated the terms of his NFL reinstatement by putting himself in a situation where this could even happen. I don’t see where Goodell or the Eagles can say with a straight face that he’s completely innocent of any violation. No matter what they ultimately decide, they look bad for giving him a chance in the first place. Now they’ll look even dumber if they don’t discipline him. Maybe not a lifetime ban, but at least a few games.

  28. i love how you guys report half truths and “theories” and in turn make them public opinion to the casual fan..all while attacking somebody for not being exact in there statements…

  29. Please Roger Goddell, just kick him out of the NFL. Please. It’s embarrassing enough.

  30. Any chance QP shot himself just to accomplish all this and put the nail in the coffin of Vicks career? Shot in the LEG?!? Come on!!!

  33. ha ha ha…..going to be a great season this year Eagle fans….your head coach and owner traded away your only really proven QB. You got one QB who makes Tupac look like Briant Gumble, and your other QB who has very little starting experience who probably will be more like the next Alex Smith then Peyton Manning. You got one loud Mouth wide reciever who Dallas proved can be shut down, no proven running back, a so so tight end, ZERO cornerbacks, your offensive line is old, your defensive line was terrible last year……in the meantime you made the Redskins better GIVING THEM YOUR ONLY PROVEN QUARTERBACK. On behalf of Cowboy, Redskin, and Giants fans everywhere, thank you for being so stupid…you used to be a team to sweat….not anymore.

  34. If Dungy was truly his full time mentor/baby sitter, why didn’t he tell Vick not to be sponsering bar parties, even his own, for his own good? I’m guessing they haven’t talked in awhile.

  37. Im not a Vick apologist. I am an eagles fan. I live in Town Center a block from where the shooting happened. One of my best friends was bartending the party. I work as a bouncer at a very popular virginia beach bar. Of course the club owner is going to say there wasnt an altercation that he could see on tape. He is trying to minimize a lawsuit against the club.

And how is he “making a difference” in Philly when he got the hell out of there the day the Eagles season ended?

So, everything you listed outside of that is irrelevent.
