Source: Vick wasn't in D.C. last night

On Sunday, Robert Littal of BlackSportsOnline.com reported that Eagles quarterback Mike Vick decided to follow up the “All White” commemoration of his 30th birthday with an “All White” celebration of the 234th birthday of the entity that put him behind bars for dogfighting — the United States of America.

Via an update to his initial post, Littal reports that Marcus Vick was at the party

Via a phone call I received while honoring America by catching at least a dozen fish swimming in one of her rivers, Mike Vick did not attend the party.

Per a league source, Mike Vick went to a barbecue in the Philadelphia area.

Our guess?  Marcus Vick hatched the idea for a series of “All White” parties, and Mike agreed, initially.  Given the aftermath of Mike Vick’s birthday party, he bailed.  But it apparently was too late to pull the plug on the party.

Which proves two things:  (1) he has learned not to host parties while on probation; and (2) his decision to host a birthday party open to members of the public (including convicted felons) was one of the worst he had made since his dog yard in Virginia was discovered by authorities.

  1. Or somebody duct-taped his a$$ to a lawn chair in a backyard in Philly, to save him from his own bad judgment.
Fool should have come right out in public and said “no way, no how, am I attending this party, or any more like them, for the rest of my sorry a$$ life”

  2. It would be a massive overstatement to say that Vick is “smart.”
    “Observant,” maybe…but far from “smart.”

  3. Oh no he was not a the party. Guess no pft articles for a week or so. But I´m sure you will find something. Great job guys

  4. trolling for some press…Vick cant help but bring this “attention” on himself. Can you imagine this guy being the starter and actually winning in Philadelphia if Kolb bombs as the starter?

We have a winner. Everyone else can save us all the trouble of reading their idiotic defense of the assclown that is Mike Vick
His stupid ass WANTED to be there. Anyone who thinks otherwise is equally as stupid.

  6. I think the time has come for self reflection. I realize PFT is out for “ratings” and is your true agenda, but you have gone over the top with your shoddy reporting of Mike Vick. PFT is promoting a public lynching of Mr. Vick that has no basis in facts. That in turn has attracted the most mean spirited, racist element of the internet clearly evidenced by their comments. In other words you should be ashamed of yourself.

  7. The dumbest guy in the NFL bar none, can’t wait till this moronic over hyped scum is out of Philly. Most over rated QB in history…

  8. There’s a punch line here somewhere about old dogs and new tricks.

  9. hawkeye, half the comments are interns for NBC. LOL, paid to post these racist irrational comments.

  10. I wouldn’t go to Philadelphia for a million bucks. Talk about your $hit holes.

Right, because people getting shot at a party Vick hosted isn’t newsworthy. Neither are the facts that he claimed to not be there, when in reality he left 3 minutes before. Then hosting another party soon after. I don’t see it as shoddy reporting, and I don’t see calling a spade a spade, or in the case, Vick a moron, as promoting a public lynching.
    Get off your high horse.

  12. @ Hawkeye:
Mike Vicks’ most impressive statistic? THE most hated player in pro sports two years running. And who’s fault would that be?
You simply can’t make this shit up. Don’t blame PFT for pointing out the obvious.

  13. there are many times where club promoters use a celebrity’s name to promote an event, when they know full well that the celeb is not likely to attend. now, was this the case for this event? not sure. either way, i understand why it was initially reported and hopefully his peeps told him stay 200 miles north of the party!

  14. Kind of funny that “unnamed sources” are always lying when their statements are anti-Vick.
But their statements are quickly embraced and promoted when pro-Vick.
Did they refund the attendees? Because that was false advertising on that invite if he didn’t attend.

MV brings the attention upon himself. He continues to make bad decisions & act like the privileged athlete he’s been his whole life. Much of the reason for that is the treatment he receives & the MV can do no wrong shell that the hangers on & defenders blindly provide him. When people take him to task for his own actions & dumb behavior, more of the Mike is a victim crowd come out & try to hold others accountable for holding MV accountable.
As Jason Whitlock & http://www.blacksportsonline.com have both shown this weekend, this isn’t a racial issue, it’s not about black & white. It’s about entitlement, it’s about dumb acts, it’s about behavior. PFT has nothing to be ashamed of, anyone that DEFENDS MV does.

  16. “one of the worst he had made since his dog yard in Virginia was discovered by authorities.”
I think the decision to be doing drugs awhile awaiting the begining of his prison sentence might have been a worse decision than hosting the birthday party.
Telling lies to the commisioner’s face was not as bad as hosting the birthday party, nor was declaring bankruptcy.
We all know a worse Vick decision is coming in the future.

  17. How does Philly put up with this POS? They have to know what’s coming and can not be/act suprised anymore.

  18. “Our guess? ” The readers guess- this is one of the ” least a dozen fish” you caught. At some point Florio will realize that a great deal of his readers believe him as much as he believes NFL coaches and players- which is not at all. Laywer.

  19. Adam S on ESPN sized it up in one quote after speaking to Eagles brass……
    “Vick aint going nowhere”.
I know that is tearing Florio and the Dog Lynch mob up.
Once again, I will repeat. Kolb is not the starter for the Eagles – he is just there to bring in the redneck money ha 🙂

  20. I am glad that Vick was not at that party. But he should have come out and publicly stated it. He should have had his name removed from the invitation. It could have gone horribly wrong in his absence and he still could have been the cause. Imagaine if one of the people at the party got pissed that he paid $50 for the chance to rub elbows for a few minutes with his hero Vick. Then Vick never shows up…gunshots or a big brawl could have ensued because he was not there and didn’t let the partygoers know in advance.
Still not showing the best judgment in the world. By not being there he showed some improvement. But, by not taking his name off the invite it still could have gone horribly wrong.
Hey Mike- Wake the F Up! Decide right now, do you want to be an NFL QB or a Club/Party Promoter. (the choice may end up being made for you anyway).

  21. Here’s what going to happen now… He didn’t show up for the event, the promoter is going to sue him for not showing up, and Florio is going to write that Vick should be banned for life because someone filed suit against him.

  22. I never said it was a racial issue I said racist elements hop on board and come out of the woodwork and that PFT is leading the charge in shoddy reporting. The haters know who they are.

  23. [quote]Wait until they find out that he was barbequeing a dog.
    Yeah! At Allen Iversons house

  24. I love this comment” How’s the witch hunt going fellas?”. Perfect.
Crazy how much attention gets put on what Mike Vick is doing. There are people going hungry in our own country but people are irate that Vick had a bday party at a public place.

  25. JUST IN: Only 3 minutes after leaving an otherwise peaceful cookout on July 4th- guests reported hearing unusually loud bursts of fire. The barrage lasted for nearly 20 minutes.
Vick can not, not be considered to not be involved.

    Yep, just like McNabb.

And just like McNabb is the starter – same for Kolb.
    So your point?

Proof that ANY idiot can post. Vick didn’t do ANYTHING wrong! (cue the rolling eyes)
“people are irate that Vick had a bday party at a public place.”
Further proof that ANY idiot can post. Sure, THAT’S why people are irate.
Take out the idiots and Mike wouldn’t have ANY supporters.

  29. Again Redneck, AKA, New Hitler, why won’t you respond to these facts?
Mike Vick was 13-of-25 for 117 yards and one touchdown and had 64 rushing yards in
Green bay that year, nothing special. Again showing how football is the ultimate team game, and the Packers were not beaten by Vick but by the Atlanta Falcons.
In regards to your comments about how dogs are just animals:
Service or assistance dogs help people with various disabilities in every day tasks. Some examples include mobility assistance dogs for the physically handicapped, guide dogs for the visually impaired, and hearing dogs for the hearing impaired.
Therapy dogs visit people who are incapacitated or prevented in some way from having freedom of movement; these dogs provide cheer and entertainment for the elderly in retirement facilities, the ill and injured in hospitals, and so on. The very act of training dogs can also act as a therapy for human handlers, as in a prisoner rehabilitation project.
Rescue dogs assist people who are in difficult situations, such as in the water after a boat disaster.
Search dogs locate people who are missing; lost in the wilderness, escaped from nursing homes, covered in snow avalanches, buried under collapsed buildings, etc
The list goes on and on, let me ask you this. What could a POS like yourself and Vick ever say you contributed to society that tops these examples?
You my friend are why I love dogs so much, they don’t see the color of a man’s skin and unlike you neither do I.

  30. Ryan35, well said. Your logic will be ignored by the MV worshippers, though. They’re too busy groveling to their idol.

  31. to the guy that said he wouldn’t go to philly for a million bucks…. Do you have a million dollars already? My guess is no… so you would be in philly if you had the chance
