Sabol says Jerry Kramer is best player not in the Hall of Fame

We neglected to mention Steve Sabol’s excellent turn as Peter King’s replacement on Monday Morning Quarterback yesterday (except in one-liners), but it’s never too late to pass along compelling content.

Sabol provides a history lesson, passing out awards like the best defensive player he’s ever seen (Dick Butkus), most influential player (John Unitas), and classiest competitor (Bart Starr).

Sabol lists five-time All-Pro selection Packers guard Jerry Kramer as the best player not in the Hall of Fame, which should get some voters’ attention. He is the only member of the NFL’s 50th Anniversary All-Time team that isn’t in Canton.

Perhaps Kramer will crack NFL Films’ Top 100 Players, a series that Sabol announced will air on NFL Network this Fall. I’d love to see it, but can’t get NFL Network because a dispute with a cable giant takes precedence over the league’s fanbase in New York. (Sorry, not dropping this one.)
