Dez Bryant, Under Armour go their separate ways

Before the draft, Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant signed an endorsement deal with Under Armour.  Darren Rovell of CNBC reports that the arrangement already has concluded.

“Under Armour and Dez Bryant mutually agreed to part ways,” Under Armour told Rovell in a statement.  “We wish Dez all the best as he embarks on a professional career.”

The relationship likely was doomed in May, when Bryant showed up for Cowboys’ offseason workouts not wearing Under Armour, but sporting Nike products.

It’s unknown whether Bryant will formalize an endorsement deal with Nike.  Hopefully, the contract won’t require him to actually carry anything.

  1. Dez slid all the way to 24 for a reason, and we’re already starting to see/smell it. Don’t cut Roy Williams just yet Mr Jones!

  2. Technically he’s done nothing wrong so far but you can’t seem to think that all this so-so press is a good sign. He better be good. Real good.

  3. glad Dallas came up and saved the Ravens from taking him (not that we were going to!)
    Go Ravens!

  4. Glad to see all the Cowboys haters keep going on each Dez post that says absolutely nothing regarding his charecter! Keep digging PFT! These robots will believe anything you say!

I love how clowns like you sit at your computer(s) and create these little conspiricy’s… like you know Anything!
    You know nothing… so STFU!

  6. I’ve never seen the 24th pick get so much attention…I guess it’s because it’s Dallas. It’s funny how people love hating on the Cowboys, yet they are the most important team in the NFL…if it wasn’t for them, who would Florio write about? It certainly wouldn’t be New York or New England…he’d prefer to pound one off to those cities…

This has Jerry Jones written all over it as he and Nike are in bed with each other.
    ____
This begs the question, if Jerry farts under the covers, do they smell it in China?

  8. Just because this player is talked about does not mean it’s about the Cowboys. Why do people always think it’s about hating on the Cboys? Once and for all the Cowboys I mean cowboys are a team of the past. They “used” to win big games. Stop putting them up on this platform they don’t belong. They are just like the rest of the teams that have not won a title the past…..how many years? They draft poorly, make silly trades and have really bad coaching. Just like the other that have not won the “big” game.

  9. OH HO. ZING! I see what you did there Florio! HAHA, man that was amazing! Calling up a story from 12 hours ago to make a joke in this one. I haven’t seen comedy like that since the banana peel joke was invented! How can you possibly top that one?
Can’t be done, you should just QUIT NOW.

  10. Again, it begs the question, “Why is a team that has ONE playoff win in FOURTEEN years getting so much press?”? Guess PR is the ONLY thing they do well in Dallas. They certainly can’t win after December. Yawn! Wake me when they manage to win something significant. I certainly won’t be holding my breath, but it IS fun to see all the Texas a-holes lifting their imaginary Lombardi every summer and crying like little girls every January. The look on Jerruh’s botoxed face this year, when they fall short AGAIN, will be absolutely delightful.

You clearly know nothing about the NFL, its history or its present. The Cowboys are the most profitable franchise in the NFL and I believe all of sports. To say they don’t matter is without a doubt the easiest way to prove your ignorance. Also, they have been wining quite often as of late.

  12. Meanwhile… Tebow’s contract with Victoria’s Secret is still in full effect.

  13. “Don’t worry, Dez!
All the Vick and OJ supporters got your back to the end!!!!”
    @poonhok,
Oh please, lets not even begin to compare what this kid has done to what scum like Vick and OJ Simpson have.
He didn’t carry some crappy vet’s pads, how horrible. He just showed up before everyone else and was the last one to leave the field at practice. He spent that early time before the other players got in signing autographs for fans. He’s just an awful awful person.
And he’s likely changing his marketing agreement to a new sponsor, how unusual. That never happens with an athlete ever in any sport.

  14. god damn.. this guy does everything right and all of a sudden hes an A hole cuz he and under armor mutually decided to dissolve their contract. every one of you haters is an idiot and by the way the cowboys are regarded as a top contender every year because they have more wins, playoff appearances, and super bowl appearances than any other team.

If they were that good, the most playoff appearances and Superbowl appearances would have traslated into the most playoff and superbowl victories. They don’t so, you guys are about as relevant as the buffalo Bills that went to the 4 straight SBs. Good enough to make it, but they still always choke.

  16. “Hes pissing off alot of people already! I hope he crashes and burns”
    You mean like Ted Ginn?

  17. “They are just like the rest of the teams that have not won a title the past…..how many years?”
Only 10 teams have won a Super Bowl since the Cowboys won their last one.

  18. “Again, it begs the question, “Why is a team that has ONE playoff win in FOURTEEN years getting so much press?”?”
Because it gets a lot of attention from people like you.

  19. “If they were that good, the most playoff appearances and Superbowl appearances would have traslated into the most playoff and superbowl victories. They don’t”
Actually, the Cowboys have indeed won more playoff games than any other NFL franchise (33). Keep in mind that this record includes several teams that have been around since before the inception of the NFL playoffs in 1933. The Cowboys did not exist as an NFL franchise until 1960.
    In case you were wondering:
Pissburgh Steelers – 31 playoff wins
    Green Bay Packers – 25
    Chicago Bears – 17
    Philadelphia 0-3gles – 19
    Washington Redskins – 23
    NY Giants – 20
They are one short of the lead in Super Bowl victories (behind only the roided up, salary cap cheating Steelers). They’re also the #1 franchise in terms of overall winning percentage (.580). Furthermore, they have an overall losing record against only 7 other NFL teams (also an NFL record).
So yes, they are that good.

  20. @ .Vox Veritas.
I hate to break it to you, but that was then… this is now! Nothing you listed, not (1) single thing meens anything, or has any bearing what-so-ever on the upcoming season.
I love how all you geniouses think what happened in the past plays any part in what happens today…

  21. You must be an Eagles fan or some other organization that hasn’t done anything worth repeating since entering the league.
Only someone with nothing to look back on with pride would make such an ignorant comment.

  22. At leats the Steelers never had a child molestor, Raphel Septien, multiple Super Bowl LOSSES, and go 13 years without a play off win! Hell the Cardinals have more playoff win in last 2 years than the cowboys do in the last 14 years! Get use to it Dallas fans, when it come December and Jan, your team has folded and choked this century!
