From time to time, we’ll refer to the NFL offices by their long-time address: 280 Park Avenue.
Soon, we’ll have to remember to use different numbers.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the league is close to striking a deal to move up a block or two, to 345 Park Avenue. The goal will be to reduce the total space that the NFL uses for its world headquarters, from 250,000 square feet to 175,000 square feet.
“We don’t need as much as we have now,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the Wall Street Journal.
The league office has downsized from 425 employees to 350 at the league offices. The current lease expires in 2012.
Aiello tells us via e-mail that the league has been at its current location since 1997. Prior to that, the league offices were located at 410 Park Avenue, a smaller space than the offices at 280.
