Lions get one of their first-rounders under contract

Though it may be a while until the Lions strike a deal with the second overall pick in the draft, they’ve wrapped up negotiations with their second first-rounder.

Per a league source, the Lions have agreed to terms with running back Jahvid Best.

It’s a five-year, $9.8 million deal.

Detroit traded up to the bottom of round one with the division-rival Vikings to get Best with the 30th overall selection in the draft.

  1. Ok best thanks for arriving on time…If our other first rounder signs on time it would be Suh-perb!!

  2. 1 down, 1 to go. Come on Rams lock up Bradford so we can get Suh done.
Can’t wait to see the youtube videos of this guy handing the ball off to the official in the end zone at Lambeau.

  3. For the first time in a long time, I genuinely like their draft. Initially I didn’t like their draft last year, but after I see they moves they have made it is all starting to make sense.
