Eagles sign Kelley Washington

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Saturday that they have signed veteran wide receiver Kelley Washington to a one-year contract.

Undrafted rookie Jared Perry, who played with Eagles starting receiver Jeremy Maclin at Missouri, was waived to create roster space.

Washington, a special teams maven and serviceable substitute wideout, will compete for a roster spot with Hank Baskett, Jordan Norwood, and rookie Chad Hall, among others. Baskett also excels on special teams and Hall was impressive during spring practices, so Washington won’t be assured of making the team.
