A quiet camp is a great camp for Brandon Marshall

For the first time in a long time, Brandon Marshall is playing drama and injury free.

Following a surprise hip surgery in the offseason, Marshall showed up to training camp ready to roll.  Marshall has routinely dominated red zone drills.

“He’s everything he’s advertised to be based on his first week of work with the Dolphins,” Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel writes.

Kelly and his colleagues expect The Marshall Plan to help the entire offense, opening up opportunities for teammates.

We get knocked here at PFT for always focusing on the negative, so we just wanted to point out Marshall’s honeymoon training camp is a step in the direction.

Marshall took his talents to South Beach, and a mutual love-fest is now on.

Oh I get it, you’re only negative when it comes to the JETS… you’re a douche Florio

Maybe you could have said, “a mutual love-fest is on for now.”

  3. lol exactly darkchild. Rosenthall and Florio wear meat helmets and club each other to Yani’s greatest hits. (since Dolfans enjoy that kind of stuff)

  4. Oh I get it, you’re only negative when it comes to the JETS…

Huh? I thought everyone is negative to the jets? Thats cause the jets suck WAHAHAHHAHAHA

  5. @Darkchild.
If you think Florio only slams the Jets, you haven’t read the Dolphins headlines. Florio updated PFT everytime Dez, Silver, or Ireland breathed during the “mom is a prostitute” “controversy”.
Florio’s correct, they tend to focus hard on the negative. Props for that. Dolphins camp has been incredibly quiet…no contract talks, no holdouts, just south florida in beast mode.

  6. The Broncos had so much talent available at WR that Brandon became expendable…….LOL (with eye roll)
    Fins will contend this year.
    Broncos? Not so much.

  7. how can you not be negative about the Jets??
have they signed one of their few young good players? no they keep on paying over the hump big names and your broke ass franchise is running out of benjamins…go buy a season ticket.. i bet you’ll get a Rex Ryan voice message by week 3 for FREE
you cheap woody new jersey jests

  8. 3G, it doesn’t count if you mention how you only write negative stories. Write something positive and pretend you have done it before.

Beast Mode? Hahaha It must suck when a sport that’s not even in season (or offseason workouts, atleast) overshadows you. The Dolphins will suck this year, and they haven’t even had a “Beast Mode” for the last twenty years.

  10. If the Dolphins win with Chad Henne will you Dolfans then admit that Dan Marino was a complete failure, a bum and a scrub?
This is a question Nick Saban and Yatil Green have been left to ponder.

  11. Marshall was a beast in Denver for both Orton and Cutler… But Marshall is just a stat monster, he could care Less whether or not his team wins or loses as long as he makes the top 10 on sportscenter so don’t expect the Dolphins to be better or the Broncos to be worse.

  12. Without making any W-L prediction. Marshall has been one of the most dominant players in any camp. And the Dolphins have 2 good young corners.

  13. Marshall will invade Revis island and DESTROY it! Week three will make it it four in a row against the paper champion Jets as they again learn who dey daddy is; DA PHINS!

  14. If the Dolphins win with Chad Henne will you Dolfans then admit that Dan Marino was a complete failure, a bum and a scrub?
    ———–
IF Henne travels back to 1985 and has
    Ron Davenport as a HB
    The Blackwood Bros as DBs
    Bill Barnett as our DT
and Sendlien as one of our backers
Then absolutly YES you would get our admission

  15. Love feat ends when fins drop to 3-4 and the finger pointing starts.
    ——————————–
With Jets dropping their 1st 3
and Miami beating Buffalo/Jets/NE in the first 4 weeks, that wont be a problem for a long time

  16. DMurph said it: he couldn’t care less about winning. All he wants is touches.
    And McDonalds bags.
And ladies so he can hit them in the face.

  17. @NYMets
Just goes to show u have no football knowledge what so ever. Was Dilfer or Hostetler a better qb then Marino…Genius? Its called having a solid defense that can make plays when it has to(unlike the overated jets that could stop indy when they had to last season)and a solid running game. Unfortunately all Marino had was the great Duper and Clayton….thats it. Cant wait to see the overhyped jets implode….good times to come indeed…..!

  18. # DMurph says:

Even if that’s true, and it probably isn’t, Marshall makes plays, and that moves the ball. That’s what you’re looking for in a receiver, and he is among the best. If he can avoid Roger Goodell’s gunsights he will be a bargain for Miami.

  19. darkchild, you’re a douche, it’s not Florio, it’s Rosenthal! Not to mention, how can you not knock a team talking superbowl with a QB throwing 20 picks to 13 TD’s?

  20. poor fella…enjoy trying to catch balls in the jets secondary…well look on the bright side its only two weeks of the season..id say 3 but we all know the phins arent making the playoffs

  21. @ Ravensallday — Too bad the Ravens weren’t even a team twenty years ago!!! Luckily for the Ravens they have Ray Rice to carry the team –too bad he can’t play LCB RCB or Safety!!! AHAHAHAHAH

  22. If Jason Taylor the Dolphin plays as well for the Jets as Chad Pennington the Jet played for the Dolphins then it’s all over.
And Taylor the warrior will finally get the ring he so rightfully deserves and that Dan Marino never got.
(Like Hostetler and Trent Dilfer and Doug Williams)

  23. @HellRelle
Why do you think it’s going to be that tough throwing against Cromartie and a rook? Because we all know (as much as you jests fans like to think players love to play for Rexy) that Revis won’t be there.

  24. Marino a complete bum, failure and scrub??? Sure, he didn’t win a Super Bowl but there are a lot of good QB’s who didn’t either. Tarkenton, Fouts,McNabb to name a few.
Oh and by the way don’t blame it all on Marino either. When did the Dolphins ever have a great RB during Marino’s time to compliment the aerial assault?? What about their defense?? Blame the organization for not surrounding Marino with enough talent to win the Super Bowl, not just Dan.

  25. You know the funny thing is as a Dolphins fan,We should be hating on the Pats more than any other team in our division considering they are the only team that has really done anything in the last 10 years, but Jets fans are such d*&che- bags who cant even admit that their team is as overrated as any team in history. They didnt nothing last year. They played two teams that had byes basicly to end the year. Did you forget that you were loosing that Indy game 18-0 before Manning and the rest of the starters sat on the bench. They should change their name to NY Blimps, cause their so full of hot air.

  26. @OJ
Good one..Not like I havent heard of that before. But Even without those positions the last two seasons, we still made playoff runs 🙂

  27. Spent 5 days at camp watching Marshall. He was nothing but positive and accomodating. Signed every autograph he could and always acknowleding the fans. He was the first to congratulate a teammate on a great play and got his butt chewed for going down and congratulating Hartline on a great catch, yelling “yeah Boy, You’re back” during his 20 yard sprint. He was schooling the DB’s and then telling them what clues to look for. This may be a Honeymoon faze right now, but I can’t say anything bad about Marshall.

  28. Jet fans are such trash. They waste there time on the Dolphin blogs (who are getting props) while there own team can’t even make there best player show up for camp. Everything about the Jets to there pathetic fans are jokes. Come talk to me when Rex Ryan and your 3rd string QB Sanchez can actually beat the Phins. Phins will SWEEP them yet AGAIN and the offseason champs get dismantled after the season. Suck on it NYJ losers!

  29. NYMETS, I hope you like to travel, won’t be long before the Mets are relocating to New Jersey to join the Giants and Jets. Bill p.s. Only one team left in NY, that’s Buffalo, and they seem to be looking at Canada, I guess you could say NY sucks.

  30. @NYMets
LOL, now I’ve heard it all… Ladies and Gentlemen, the savior of the New York Jets, Jason Taylor!

  31. hey RavensAllDay, worry about your own ageing team thats’ slowly falling apart day by day.
How’s that Sergio Kindle pick workin out for you? or that fat slob Cody? how’s that secondary lookin?
ya, the Fins suck so badly that your pathetic team has been trying to trade for one of our awesome corners.
Flacco is overrated. Where was he the last 12 weeks of 2009?
Ed Reed is done mentally and ray Lewis is done physically.
You guys are as bad as the jets.
Marshall would gain 300 yards on your pathetic-ass secondary!

You only want to call it a failure to cover up the fact that the Jets took Ken O’brian instead of Marino.
When the Jets picked O’brian Shula said “Who is that”

Are you resorting to “IF” statements, here are a couple moore:
“If Revils ends his hold out”
“If Holmes dosnt screw up on his 4 game Suspention”
    “If Cromartie learns to Tackle”
“If Sanchez dosnt coke on a hot dog on the bench”
“If Revil learns to cover Marshall betteer than this”

Boy, you’re getting dumber by the post. Did some spider lay eggs in your brain? It’s not working correctly.
BTW- Remember the clock play. Marino set your putzs back YEAR with that 1 play… losers
Too bad you have to hear Marino mentioned as the best of all time. ALL the time… jets have NO ONE on that list~!

  35. @ Pr1cetag
Aikman won 3 superbowls without ever throwing more than 20 TD’s in a season……..
I hate the Jets, but just sayin

  36. I don’t think the Marshall Plan is going to be that helpful to the Dolphins, as it is only geared to help rebuild European economies since the destruction of WWII…….
Oh wait, Rosenthal was just being creative? Ok. The Brandon Marshall Plan will most definitely help an offense that didn’t have a legit receiver. I agree.

  37. I’m sure JT will play just as well for the jests as he did for the Fins last season. Where he got pushed around on running plays and couldn’t cover anyone in passing plays.
What is your obsession with Marino NYMets? You do realize that football is the epitome of team sports. Did any of those three QBs you mention win ANYTHING until they got onto a good TEAM?

  38. @ NYMets – just goes to show your are as dumb as Minaya, Manuel, Doubleday and that still fax retarded coach – you have alot of good company moron….

  39. @Polorl
You’re right but show me one season he had a TD/INT ratio even close to as bad as 13/20. Without checking the facts I never remember him throwing more picks than INT’s at all let alone 13/20.

If Ted freaking Ginn can catch balls in the Jets secondary, I’m sure Marshall can figure it out.

GAH I hate “sticking up ” for any member of the JESTS since I am a Pats fan but Aikman’s stats were very very very average in all categories for most of his career. 4 of his seasons featured more INTS than TDs too. Here are the numbers for those seasons, td first INT second: 9/18, 11/18, 12/13, 7/14. ONE season in his whole career with more than 20 tds (23 1 year). Two seasons where he threw only 1 more td than int. Good but not great YPA some years, a couple years with great completion % but only 6 of his 12 years did he exceed 60% completions. For his career he is only +24 tds over INTS. He’s a career 81 QB rating guy too.
