Haynesworth releases statement after first (half) practice

The next step for Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth will be to make through an entire practice.

After finally passing his conditioning test, Haynesworth participated in some individual drills at practice on Saturday.  But he left the field with a wrap around his knee when team drills started.  He made a statement following the brief flurry of activity:

The test is over,” Haynesworth said. “Now it’s back to playing
football. I want to thank all the fans for still supporting me, still
wearing 92 jerseys and still believing in me. Y’all have a good day.”

Crowd reaction was surprisingly positive for Haynesworth’s first day. A sampling of reaction from other Redskins:

Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, while on the field: “Oh yeah, we got the big guy back!”

Haslett says Haynesworth’s base position is nose tackle: “He really has no say in that.”

Linebacker London Fletcher: “He seems to have the right attitude.”

Mike Shanahan: “[Haynesworth] probably doesn’t like me very much right now, but I’m not here to be liked.”

  1. Fatass. You’d like to thank all the buffetts than never ran out of food too. What an asshole. You skipped practices trhat the coach wanted you to attend, so he showed why your obese ass needed to be there. Piss off.

  2. i am a true redskin fan. Anyone who wears the burgundy and gold receives my unconditional love. I may get angry or disappointed in them, but I will will always love them and wish the best for them.
I am happy that Albert Haynesworth has finally passed his conditioning test. I hope he has the best year of his career. I hope he and Orakpo play, “let’s make a wish” with opposing QB.

  3. Another one of the Snyder signings that didn’t work out like the other 90% of them.

  4. Well, AH may be overweight, but fat?
The dude ain’t fat, he is an athlete, he is in very good shape for a 360lbs man, there ain’t many men at that weight who are as fit and strong as he is.

  5. I forgive Albert for everything that happened this offseason. Him and Briam Orakpo are going to be awesome this year they will be unblockable.

  7. You Redskin fans have no moral values. Man, it’s just a game. These people aren’t Gods for crying out loud. Enjoy the game but don’t kiss their ass on a public forum like this one. Get some respect for yourselves. “I forgive Albert “, “Anyone who wears the burgundy and gold receives my unconditional love.”. Are you people sick?

One type-o? You’re a douche. Why don’t you stick the Ruffriders or whatever and leave the NFL for Americans.

  9. Seriously all you people with the “Fat Albert” and stupid eating jokes why dont you google a picture of him at camp this year. I’m sure you wont though you just like to bash everyone. And the Vikings fan…look at that D-line before you start talking shit about other teams.

  10. Shananhan made his comment, pooped, gnawed a hole in the wall, then scurried quickly out of sight.

  11. Why did they put a turkey wrap around his knee, was it in case he needed a snack in between plays?

  12. 92 now has a clearer understanding of the power structure with the Redskins. Last year they would have kissed his buttocks. This year, new leaders making it clear who is running the show and that you can either do what we want or we will wear your ass out, even if you are #92.
If Coach didnt take crap from John Elway he sure isnt going to take crap from the likes of #92.
Everyone knows the deal now and the Redskins can move forward as a team and as an organization.

  13. That fat slob totally faced Shanahan
Then Shanny comes out talkin more smack trying to cover up the fact that Fatty Arbuckle played him like Charlie Daniels plays a fiddle
    How embarrassing

Yep. If you’re a multi-million dollar player, you can make a total fool out of your coach by pretending to have a sore knee and he’ll totally cave and humiliate himself by having you “pass” his asinine test without anyone else watching. You assclowns are a bigger joke than ever before. Shame. Used to be a proud organization. Now the whole League mocks you and you consider it a sign of improvement.
