Raheem Brock visits the Texans

The Houston Texans’ interest in adding a veteran pass rusher to bolster the defense goes beyond just Aaron Schobel.

Mark Berman of the Houston Fox affiliate reports that free agent defensive end Raheem Brock is in Houston to visit with the Texans.

The Colts released Brock in March after eight years with the team. Brock played in all 16 games last year and had 3.5 sacks.

There probably isn’t room on the Texans’ roster for both Schobel and Brock, but making it publicly known that they’re interested in both players could provide the Texans with some leverage in contract negotiations.

  1. Well yeah. Raheem Brock averages 3.5 sacks/year. Schobel averages 8 2/3 sacks/year. Practically the same guy.

  2. Don’t get cheap on me McNair. Go after Schobel! Get that stinkin Colt outta there!

  3. Don’t forget the fact that Brock has pretty much been used as the UT in Indy the past few seasons and hasn’t played exclusively at DE in a long time. He could be a very useful swing DE/DT for any team looking for help in both areas.
