Browns lose punter Dave Zastudil for the season

The Browns will have a new punter this season.

The team placed Dave Zastudil on injured reserve Tuesday, meaning that Reggie Hodges will be the team’s punter and holder for 2010.  Hodges isn’t actually that new, as he replaced Zastudil late last season when nine-year veteran tore his patella tendon.

Zastudil struggled to recover from the injury, but Browns coach Eric Mangini said he wouldn’t be surprised to see him back with the Browns in 2011.

  4. Why aren’t there more Black punters and kickers? I grew up with Reggie Roby and Donald Igwebuike, now, other than Hodges there aren’t any Black punters or kickers.

  5. Let’s get back to talking about how Antonio Bryant duped the Bengals into giving him a huge long term contract when he missed most of last year, and probably won’t play this year. …great move, Bungals.

    Good one, but State College is a few hours away, so try again.
    And he’ll be escorting the Bengals secondary into the men’s room this fall.
    Bungals are goin nowhere.

  17. He may not be their best weapon but, he has definitely be overused. That is changing though.
    I really thought the Bens-gals would a factor in the AFC this year, and that last year was no fluke. Then, they went out and signed Bryant & T.O. Bwuhahahaha!!
    OMG, that should tell you everything you need to know about how their own coach sees the team.
    The Bucs & the Bills didn’t even want them back! I really thought they would end up either in Washington or in Oakland. Maybe they can still sign Jemarcus to back up Carson. 😉
    It’ll be a battle in Ohio as to who stays out of last place…at least the Clowns are finally headed in the right direction.
    T.O….it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving team!!!
