Ben Roethlisberger may not have heard a hint of displeasure at Steelers training camp this year, but Bills quarterback Trent Edwards can’t say the same thing. And Bills coach Chan Gailey wasn’t happy about it Tuesday.
Gailey walked over to a group of Edwards hecklers during Tuesday’s practice and admonished them, according to the team’s website.
“I just explained to them why the players wouldn’t be over there to sign
some autographs for them,” Gailey said. “They said some things during
practice that were derogatory to a couple of our players. And if you say
something derogatory to one of us you say it to all of us, so I told
them not to sign for that group.”
The move may not go over well, but we like it. Edwards appreciated the gesture, but pointed out the the fans can say whatever they want. That’s true.
Anyone can choose to be an unhappy, angry knucklehead in life. But you can’t complain then if you get treated like one.
